It could be the red mask formed AFTER he left Zodiak as a "primal" himself. So it would make sense his ghost form also had it. I mean we really didn't see "REAL" Emet in the trial just fuzzy Ancient one. We don't really see their "pure" selves as shades/ghosts

But........

We do know about the red masks before Zodiark: Emet literally wears one in Elpis. Considering every convocation member we've seen seemed to have red masks, it stands to reason the seat of Elidibus did too, even pre-Zodiark.
So that would suggest it's an Elidibus who either gave up the seat, or before he took the seat (which poses continuity problem, about the grapes!).
