funny. they can't find more servers. but if you google servers for rent. your get a spit tons of companies that have server farms for rent.More than half of the population was "hibernating" as they ran out of content a long time ago. Then WoW went boom and population increased to the level of Shadowbringers launch. Now Endwalker launches with the servers already near maximum and they have to deal with the hibernating people returning. Its the perfect storm as they have to wait at least 10 months or more to get new servers to expand the DCs.
I'm on Faerie as well and I also got booted at the same time. I also had to reload the launcher. I'm also still waiting in line to get back in. It seems to be going faster than it did yesterday. One of the boots yesterday made me wait 2.5 hours with a disconnect from the queue once but I got back in line fast enough. At this point, I'm grateful I made it through MSQ before the disconnects began for me.

maybe its just teh IT person in me, but I somehow doubt servers capable of running an mmo are plentiful. plus, they would have to have guarantees of stability and high speed connection capability. otherwise I am sure they could just buy a bunch of Walmart specials and run on those right?
Kupo, you know the best servers are done with 1000's of Raspberry Pi's kupo <3
Kupo!

Yes. The multi-billion dollar company is either not-internet savvy and cannot google "server hosting for rent" or lying to it's thousands of customers because it's developers just don't like to have more satisfied customers.
I get the frustration. But .. think your posts through for a couple minutes.
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?

Comparing servers you can rent off of a Google search to the server needed to run an MMO is like saying "Why is there a shipping backup? There are plenty of moving vans."
And that's not even getting into the inherent issues of cloud servers (which is what most if not all of them are) on anything where ping matters.

Have you ever running into this situation where you see people are dying of thirst. You point to the pond next to them and call them stupid for not drinking the water in there ... without knowing the water is actually poison?
Just to give you some respective: I know several companies (through work) that have multiple division, with each division eclipse SE both in term of size and budgets. Those companies still have a 9+ months leadtime for their servers to be delivered, some had placed order since LAST YEAR.
And since you can't play anyway I would assume you have some free time, maybe you should use that time for some education purpose. May I suggest doing a bit of research on "different type of server" so next time you don't make an ignorant suggestion while making it sound like the obvious solution?
No Company, who's product is completely intellectual property is going to host that on servers they don't control. At least not without serious legal agreements in place that take more time to draft then this problem will last.
