And this my friends, is why you don't take that sort of picture to begin with.
Not to say it's right, its just a word of warning. You can't trust anyone to not be jerks.
It's considered toxic in this community to complain when it's been SEVEN DAYS since people have been able to play the game because SE, who knew over a year ago this problem would occur, did not take steps to prevent it? You can't even say "oh it's covid theres no parts to make more servers". Every single launch in MMO history has had a large influx of people to try it out and servers have always been overloaded, it's very clear that they did not take steps to prevent this. You can claim they said they were doing things to try, but the fact that they waited SO LONG to even attempt steps shows how poorly this was planned. Go ahead and respond with your flames, but as someone who played wow for 15 years, has 5 level 80's (Non-boost) on GW2, a 65 on rift when it was level cap, a level 100 on DFO, among many other games. It's common sense that this was going to happen and they waited way too long, knowing full well that this would be the result.
You do know the server shortage has been going on more then a year lol
They didnt know it was going to be this bad a year ago. They started looking into getting new servers once que times started many months ago and couldnt obtain any to this day due to production and on time of that they couldnt predict the influx of players during covid nor could predict that a good amount of WoW players also transferred over.
Also, LOL what does WoW and RIft and GW2 has to do with what happened? You listed 2 games which arnt doing well and listed another that going through issues due to the company bad practice lol Also if you bring up well they have server BS lol its because for one when they had high populations at one point, they could easily get servers up and running because COVID was not causing a shortage
Again, still thumping your chest acting like a Karen lol showing how you know nothing and did no research bc you have high lvl toons on other games and played WoW for 15yrs lol makes you some expert LOL

Yes. How dare we bring valid criticism to the table. Square promised us a product, and they did not deliver. I do not care if the game runs smooth if I can't even login to play. It's been a week and the sweet hour and a half today before the servers got pulled down sure was fun, but absolutely not worth the 6,7 hours today that I had to queue for it? They should not have pushed this release, knowing what they know, and could have delayed as long as they wanted. It's out because they wanted your money, and the end of the fiscal year is approaching. This has been badly managed, and it is absolutely fair that the players are allowed to be disappointed. Anyone claiming that upset people are toxic and just coming from another game are just spreading their own unique brand of crap. People are allowed to disagree, and allowed to be unhappy. This experience has been a miserable one and I expected better. We all did.
FFXIV has been growing for YEARS. The spike in population in 2021 is irrelevant in the face of that fact. Market analysts would have seen the rate at which the population was growing and would have told SE that they need to deal with the problem, and they would have said that long before "muh chip shortage" and covid and Blizz being outted as the trash company they are. All of you that keep harping on about "muh population spike" just ignore reality and the fact that the population of FFXIV was already seeing a massive increase in its rate of growth long before your precious spike. And the problems with servers go back years, not months. So they knew Blizzard was abusing their workers, which in turn made big time streamers leave WoW which in turn in record breaking timing all came to XIV which in itself broke records which was just like what 2 to 3 months BEFORE EW released? You mean SquareEnix knew all of THAT? Fuck if they did I want that shit cause they can predict the future no matter how random it can be.
The irony of you disrespectfully calling someone "karen" and telling them to "do some research" when you need to do some yourself about the server issues FFXIV has had and the rate at which the population for FFXIV has been growing for years. You do know the server shortage has been going on more then a year lol

Do some research before post again or you will make yourself look like an uneducated Karen again

the could see the reports that showed the number of active accounts and the number of pre orders. so yes they did know how many people would be playing. they then had 2 choices. 1. buy or rent more servers . which would have been a short term loss and a long time revenue gain, or they could frag there customers. it would a smaller short term loss and a long term loss. they chose to go with the option that would loose them the least amount of money. they would rather loose customers then spend money on equipment. So they knew Blizzard was abusing their workers, which in turn made big time streamers leave WoW which in turn in record breaking timing all came to XIV which in itself broke records which was just like what 2 to 3 months BEFORE EW released? ^^ This. Right here. Renting server space would have been a neat solution. (Barring those servers having their own issues today, which i've been told). But I digress. Only if people raise hell will square actually think about doing anything about it.the could see the reports that showed the number of active accounts and the number of pre orders. so yes they did know how many people would be playing. they then had 2 choices. 1. buy or rent more servers . which would have been a short term loss and a long time revenue gain, or they could frag there customers. it would a smaller short term loss and a long term loss. they chose to go with the option that would loose them the least amount of money. they would rather loose customers then spend money on equipment.
There is a difference between criticism and baseless accusations and attacks on the company, its workers, and the game that many of the complainers are committing in a childish tantrum simply because something is inconveniencing them.Yes. this person definetely isnt a karen and since your brain is that dysfuctioning ill try to make it easier to understand for you every MMO has a shitty launch but not this much shittyYou do know the server shortage has been going on more then a year lol

You do know the shortages started happening in 2020 right also slowly growing and huge spikes arnt the same. If servers were easily obtain when we started to see que times what about a year ago SE would have already added them since when they made the original announcement about monitoring the population and looking into getting new servers online however made a follow up announcement a bit later on they are still having issues getting servers and still monitoring the population increase and thats when they started to warn the player base that que times most likely will start getting longer at the rate the population is growing and that will see another player spike once EW would release but they hope to have new servers up and running and then did another announcement once we started to see a large spike saying they still cant get servers and also looked in to Cloud servers which wouldnt work for FF14 and warned again que times are going to get bad till they can get new serversFFXIV has been growing for YEARS. The spike in population in 2021 is irrelevant in the face of that fact. Or
Did you not do your research which clearly you didnt
The only thing I know for sure from all of this is the memes it spawned, and most prominently Errorwalker or WoWwalker
