Less time spent. When you're moving at twice the speed as normal, without having to spend hours getting riding maps, that's a lot of time saved.

Thought that was obvious. It's basically punishing people who didn't buy the mount with an extra grind to reach the same point-even if the grind isn't the longest thing.
