Why is SDS Fenrir allowed to exist as it is?

"Obviously Pay to Win" is a little exagerated.
In EW/ShB areas u can get the mount speed map fairly quickly after (6?) fates.
In ARR areas you unlock flying straight out of the bat once u finish the Base MSQ.
If anything Fenrir has lost its value.
HW/SB is debateable but its also whatever.

Fenrir is extremely optional.

theres no pay to win in this game, its an MMO theres no "winning" so someone else is getting exp a lil bit faster then you bit deal its not the end of the world

Eh, just play the game. The more you whine on the forum, the less time you spend progressing toward your flying mount, the more time you walk on foot.



Heck, the time you post here and wait for people to reply and argue with them should've been better spent to do six FATEs and get a riding map if it bugs you that much.

Mind you, this isn't a post made out of jealousy, I own the mount, I'm just curious.

Why is something so obviously pay-to-win allowed to exist? Are the devs okay with this, or are they just oblivious?

For those who don't know: The SDS Fenrir shop mount runs at top speed even when you don't have riding maps, eliminating any need for players to get the maps if they own this mount (while also limiting them to only using that mount). It's a lose-lose situation both ways, and makes the game look bad imo. Pay to win elements shouldn't exist, even if you think movespeed 'isn't a big deal', eliminating the need for people to do the riding map unlocks is a pretty big thing I think.

It's not max ground speed. It's only the speed of the first riding map. Also, it cost money. If you spend extra you get incentives others don't have. The premium plan in the companion app comes to mind. You want to talk for pay for an advantage that's a huge one considering how much we value storage space in this game.

I do think its dumb that this mount has a special game effect when no other mounts do. It's not like I can actually blast mobs with my dwarven tank cannon, right.

That said, it's not a serious thing to me.

I never bothered to get any riding maps in the past. Never had a problem with anything. I am actually surprised that some people think regular mount speed is slow.

I've still yet to buy a mount off the cash shop, nor do I own the fenrir. Don't care. I just did 6 fates and moved on with it

I too have it and I bought it specifically because of the groundspeed bump because the first tier is absolutely dreadful. Nevermind that I actually like the aesthetic (other than that silly smog cloud that follows it).

Is it an unfair advantage? Yes. However it's not even close to game breaking and once flying can be unlocked the only people that (might?) care are those that didn't keep up with the aether currents.
