Why is SDS Fenrir allowed to exist as it is?

Mind you, this isn't a post made out of jealousy, I own the mount, I'm just curious.

Why is something so obviously pay-to-win allowed to exist? Are the devs okay with this, or are they just oblivious?

For those who don't know: The SDS Fenrir shop mount runs at top speed even when you don't have riding maps, eliminating any need for players to get the maps if they own this mount (while also limiting them to only using that mount). It's a lose-lose situation both ways, and makes the game look bad imo. Pay to win elements shouldn't exist, even if you think movespeed 'isn't a big deal', eliminating the need for people to do the riding map unlocks is a pretty big thing I think.

I literally don’t understand this argument. What are you “winning” exactly? Reaching a destination faster than someone without a Mount? It’s a negligible gain if you really want to reach—just be careful a shoulder doesn’t get dislocated in the process.

Getting to a place seconds faster isn’t “winning”. This doesn’t give you a combat advantage or other meaningful game advantage. If you think this is pay to win, please just go look at some of the items F2P games have like exp boost scrolls and gear enhancement guarantees.

"Punishing ppl"?
I dunno but...did u ever thought of the great amount of ppl, bein slow on purpose?
Many of us dont want to rush anythin, or dont have any problems with amounts of time things take.
Thats why many of us dont care.
We even have memes about our community like "Go read/play story...NO RLY GO PLAY STORY! TAKE UR TIME!!!"
Many of us dont like/want ppl to max lvl jumpscare their classes for obvious reasons.
Many of us dont want to wall 2 wall everything.
Many of us dont EVER skip cutscenes.
As u can see, some dont even know what u are talkin about by sayin "Win".
And i guess thats part of the reason, why most of us couldnt care less about some random mount out of 5980254720 bein ??% faster.

I've been here for quite a while and i NEVER felt "punished" anyhow.
I still dont care tbh.
Personally im fine with havin to work for my progress, no matter how long it takes.

But its a rly great amount of ppl.

The bike has been around for a while, long before it was added to the Mogstation. Originally the developers were against adding it into the game because they didn't like how odd it looked when traveling at the standard mount speed (which, for a long time, was the only mount speed that existed).

When additional ground speeds for mounts were eventually introduced, the idea of allowing the bike in was revisited, and apparently the developers liked how it paired with the advanced ground speed because they finally added it into the game at that point (while making the advanced ground speed its base movement speed).

Essentially, I don't think the bike would have ever been released with the slower speed. At least, that's the direction things seemed to be going. So, it was either going to be a fast bike, or no bike at all.

It should be no surprise that a fair portion of the community was begging for the bike.

You complain about that but forget that once you finish praetorium in main scenario that you unlock flying in arr zones making any ground mount speed moot lol. Who cares if someone got a slightly speedier mount. What advantage do they have? It's not like there isn't a huge amount of mounts in the game.

I mean, there is nothing competitive about the story, hence there is no pay to win.

If it moved faster in PVP it would be pay to win.

I would consider it more 'Pay for convenience' which i really don't have an issue with. considering once the 20 hours storyline is over and done with, its just a $20 mount that has no real use.
