I am happy with the 7 extra days and possibly more if the congestion keeps happening. Till then I'll just play something else.

And i'm certain that the service agreement got them covered. And you obviously know nothing about the legislation in some countries I see, something being online or not doesn't matter; it's the _service agreement_ between the _paying customer_ and the _service provider_ that matters, neither does it matter it's "just a game", a service should be available to those who purchase- no where in the contract does it state that the game is only available at off hours if that was the case it should have been written in the contract we all agreed to when we signed up.
Sorry Raiya i don't agree, their is so call 25million peeps playing this game, that requires you to pay to play. With all that money coming in, it is no excuse not to be ready for what has now been for quite awhile people moving from wow to ffiv in the last few months alone, so server stress had already increased. They should of had the foresight to be ready for endwalkers release being it pre-order or not. I haven't myself played ffiv in a few years as money was tight for me after loosing work but I have now been able to start again. Today I have spent all of it to log in and so far for 10hours all I have got down the line is 2002 when the queue get down to around 3000. So to say they did everything humanly possible is no ware near what should of been planned ahead of time in the first place, and like overs a 7day of free play is tbh an insult to the fan base.

All the "they should've prepared" folks don't seem to understand the timetable involved in actually preparing.
Like. We know they're getting OCE data center up and running, but plagued by delays. Do y'all honestly think they only started considering getting that data center going in the last year? Getting approval, allocating funds, finding real estate, building the location, acquiring hardware, etc, etc. That shit's a process. One that was already underway. They can't just shift gears in the middle of it to address some new thing cropping up.
Additionally, they've already communicated their intent to further upgrade existing servers, again plagued by delays due to travel restrictions.
"They haven't done anything since ARR! They've learned nothing!" Yo, if this much traffic were trying to get into ARR, everything would be on fire. They've added servers, split data centers, modified processes. Anyone claiming they've made zero effort to improve is clearly far too short sighted.

I expect things will be semi-stable by Christmas. Even then, this happens even with the best of talent and hardware availability.
Hopefully it gets worked out soon. Spent like 3 hours today trying to login and kicked out to 2002 after ~30 minutes a couple times. Got down to "Players in queue: 1" and sat for a bit (5 min roughly) - getting very nervous as it just kept blinking. I was approaching the 30 min point again so concerned for good reason. Got logged in... adventure was just a hair under 3 hours and about 15-20 login attempts failed with 2002. (Some attempts immediately, some delayed after picking character).

The babies got their bottle and yet some are STILL crying.
The menacing aura of every Lalafell.

The only Expansion I've played that didn't have massive issues was Shadowbringers If I remember correctly. Stormblood had massive que times and then the ever fated "Raubahn Savage" which actually prevented people from progressing in the MSQ. HW had bad que times. EW suffers the same fate :/
