    They don't have to itemize it to your satisfaction to be correct. SE offered early access if one preordered the game. Early Access wasn't offered as an extra add on or at a special premium, it was bundled in as part of the entire purchase. Therefore, early access isn't free, it is and was offered as part of the $30 to $60 spent to purchase the expansion in the first place.

    The amount SE should offer as compensation, that's harder to put a figure on, if they offer any at all. Presuming they did provide players some compensation, say free game time or a refund of $1 to $15, there will always be someone who thinks it's too fair or unfair.

    Now depending on the Jurisdiction, the offer of early access could be considered a form of contract under consumer protection laws, and would then make the current log in issues a breach of said contract on the part of Square Enix.
