    Taking the servers down for deploying a patch is one thing and is necessary. The game requiring a several hour commitment that doesn't even function as intended and can constantly reset your progress in the queue is an entirely different beast. The latter demonstrates that SQuenix is selling a service they can't even provide in the first place.
    read your EULA. you are not guaranteed 100% of the time to log in, with no reasons to even why you wouldn't be able to log on. MY argument is that there is a lot of people who ALL want to play the game and that means not everyone will get to play. this has been the case of MMO's during initial launch, major content patches, Ex-Pacs being dropped and many other times. SERVER stability is the company's concern and would rather inconvenience people by dumping people that are waiting to get in instead of risk loosing the server till they can get it back up and running. it's the best of all worlds because with stable servers when you are in you get to play the game! just when you aren't you have to understand what it is. and SQUenix has said this over and over and over and no one is hearing it because they don't want to.

This shows that when someone buys the expac they are not guaranteed access before it because the expac cost is the same before and after. same with the subscription as things take the game down at times and people are understanding about that. so now tell me what is it that you purchased that specifically gave you the extra access, earring or minion there?
    Clearly in your mind something is free when it isn't but ok keep trying to write a whole paragraph in defense of a false statement. They're in the wrong they know they're in the wrong and they warned people they would be in the wrong with server issues. If they knew this would happen then why even keep selling copies to make the servers even worse. They didn't fix the problem months ago when they got slammed from streamers moving over and now people just need to "deal with it" because it's "free content" TO YOU IN YOUR MIND. So laughable you can't even make this stuff up. The game goes down for maintenance at a specific time and comes back up at a specific time where people actually get to play. Spending hours getting errors and never being able to log on isn't the same and your argument is invalid with that comparison and honestly makes zero sense. I mean you can keep white knighting all you want nobody is hating the company over this but it is quite horrible how bad the servers are. People should be at least able to Q and wait their turn and they can't even do that. You sitting and saying it's ok that some get to play and others don't and that is just what launches are is just ridiculous and will be treated as such.

    there's not reasons for failing in acquiring additional infrastructure to support the massive influx of people. Cloud infrax couldve been leased to address the needs of the population. Its already built.

    is anyone having specific server issues though? My character is on Behemoth - Primal , I can log onto any other DC and any other world, but I only get error 2002 now after about 36 hours of playtime since early access launch. It is strange that it is very specific to just my one character on Primal and absolutely no other DC/world for me. Just wondering if this has been the case for anyone else. It did start with lobby connection issues earlier and simply dropping me from the queue. Now it is not able to connect to my DC at all.

    YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT. EVERYONE WHO CANT RECIEVE THE SERVICE SHOULD REQUEST A REFUND AND THEN DISPUTE THE CHARGE IF THE COMPANY REFUSES. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! YOU DONT SELL A PRODUCT YOU CANT PROVIDE!!!!

    I agree completely. Unless I am a no lifer who sits on the server all day I can't play. This isn't friendly to those of us who have families/careers who want to spend their weekend playing. This launch is a mess and I expected stuff like this from Blizzard, not Square. Very disappointed.

    I've been able to play quite a bit, but regardless, this is the worst launch I've seen for this game. It's unacceptable. The company could only get away with acting like it's still a small company coming back from its horrendous launch the first time for so long. It's over now. The game is almost the number one MMO in the world and it needs to start acting like it. Whatever funding or server management or engine optimizations whatever the answer is they need to do it. It can't possibly be that there's no solution available to them that simply the game has a limited supply of servers and that's it sorry that's all we can do, I don't buy that. I understand covid, I understand chip shortages but acting like you can't send some IT people who have had their vaccinations to go get servers or go make sure that rented servers are up to final fantasy XIV standards is a lie. I'm so sick of the excuses and apologies, like do the work, get it done. If you want to be the number one MMO then you need to do all the work that comes along with that. It's so strange to me now that I can't even log into the game that I used to be one of the only people playing on zalara server. Playing since 2013 and paying over $2000 since, can I get at least a veteran queue??? Something?

    please enlighten me as to how much you paid extra over and above the normal expansion cost for the privilege of getting to play it 3 days early? please tell me what that cost is and show me where it is ITEMIZED as such. IF you can do that I'll agree I am wrong. Till you do I am going to stay with how I read the costs. I have never said there isn't a problem that needs to be solved with the servers booting queues and not keeping pc users' place like it does on the playstation. but for this time people are whining about a 50 cent or 1 dollar or at worst case 1.50. and people have done this time immemorial since mmo's existed, especially when mmos were on dial up! should have seen the the people telling SOE to refund the time they lost because they got disconnected by an incomming call on the phone line (call waiting disrupts an acoustic coupled modem or a standard telco modem) and then couldn't get back on becuase of busy signals on their phone lines!
