Nothing else matters. Literally. If people wanna be pissed about this, then it is perfectly valid for a consumer to be upset.

Personal story: I spent money from this pay period on 14 because I expected it on the 19th. It is now pushed back to what is in a different pay period December. I essentially threw $40 at nothing. I could have used that money this month for something else. A different game to bide my time. But nope, I got lied to. The reasons don't really matter. It is their job to provide the product on the specified day if they are confident enough to take my cash.

Now, is it something worth freaking out over, not really. Not to me. But if it is enough to set someone else off, they are well within their rights to feel torched.
If companies waited until they are 100% sure about a release date to announce it, they would not announce it before the game gets gold.
You did not get lied to, they just had to change plans because of last minute impediments. That can happen in basically any type of project where a deadline is set. I worked on many IT projects and a lot of them got last minute delays.

That said, yes, people should be upset. 100%. I think it is even fair to request a month of free subscription or something like that.
