Everything you did in that game was to get better gear to be stronger for said pvp, I am well suited to PvP but the pvp in this game felt god awful to me, tab target pvp is a nightmare when there are dozens of characters. I still hope for a decent action combat pvp based mmo to role around someday, new world sure ain't it for me. It's fine for it not to be work for you, I grinded 100 hours for ONE LEVEL in my old mmo and I was quite content doing it, though I had a lot more time back then since I was only in school. Nevermind upgrading my accessories which blew up upon failure..
But as Yoshida said this community is overall more suited to casual content, 'work' in an mmo context means dozens of hours typically and that does not constitute casual in the least. If you only have a couple hours a day to play and you wanted the pvp stuff, well you are shit out of luck and that is unacceptable. I didn't complain about the huge grind in my old mmo as I knew that pvp and a more grindy competitive style was what I was getting into, not so with ff! It is vastly more casual friendly and the pvp was the main thing out of wack in that sense.

I said wanting some effort is fine, but to try and suggest that others need to adhere to your standard is not so fine. I had same in my old game, players thought that purely because they dumped an ass load of time in meant they should be respected and all dev choices going forward should be made with that thought in mind at the cost of new players.

Some people didn't try ff pvp because it had a rep for being bad, others did try and hated the clusterf*ck of frontlines, myself being one of them though I did enjoy the 8v8v8 before they removed it. Feast was so hard for me to even find as a new player nevermind get into and learn to go for high ranks. It was just a thing suddenly on my duty list and I had no idea what it was about and the game didn't tell me wtf it was either. I later learned it had the competitive mode but trying to find people was difficult and when I learned unless I was willing to deal with a massive grind, cheating and RMT then I shouldn't hold my breathe. Grind, cheats and RMT all have NOTHING to do with pvp, not wanting to participate in those things does not make me "not suited" for pvp it makes me not suited for tedious, frustrating crap... It's not even an enjoyable grind when you have to deal with win traders now is it?? I sat for hours in arena just dueling, there was no grind there just 1v1 tests of skill. No cheating as we would match our gearscore to each other it was true competition to see who was best not who could sink the most time in.

But here's the thing. I never once participated in the Feast and if that's your base of frustration I can understand from what I read. When I say "work" for something, it means it should ultimately be worth it. 15k-20k wolf marks for 1-2 pieces each isn't much all things considered. Easy to get in fact. The currency doesn't lock you out so to speak; it's available in abundance at anytime.

My standards have never been to the point of toxic gatekeepeing, or having people miss out on an item forever. I wanted the gear so badly and was heavily disappointed when I found out you could only obtain it by being among the top 100.

I'm fine with whatever the developers come up with, I'd like to have the gear myself. I just didn't want it to be available for 2000 coins so to speak. Hence why I thought raising the cap high enough would be suitable because it's not that much in theory.

I understand not wanting it to be one pvp match and here is your set, that's fine I get it. But my first post to you I mentioned if they did the whole series pass, ie all ten levels which presumably is a pretty reasonable amount of work and as such people have 'earned' it in that sense. I adore PvP, being able to outplay someone give me the thrills, but finding myself locked out of something thanks to not having infinite time anymore is annoying. 1-2 games a day on a regular basis aught to be enough to get the rewards you want come the end of the series imo.

We agree on the lack of fomo being good at least, for what it's worth I'm sorry for being a condescending asshat. I am too used to discussions with pvpers just devolving into but "muh investment" Which to me just sounds like, "I was whipped ten times a day to get x gear therefore, you should be whipped at LEAST 5 times a day to get this thing or it's unfair" Players should not have had to suffer that crap in the first place and I don't want us all having to suffer something similar but a bit less poopy for the sake of "but I had to do this"

I am really hoping I love the new pvp, smaller scale solves my hatred of the tab target nightmare and I look forward to being able to work towards getting the old pvp rewards, just don't make it a 100 hour commitment for a bit of gear.
