Well sure, but on the other side of the spectrum you have grown adults throwing temper tantrums about having to wait two weeks.
And yes, it sucks for those who took the day/weekend/whatever off, but it's not like they can't use those days off for something else.
As a spectator, this goes for both sides. Some people are reasonably upset and others get upset about their upsession. None of you really are better tbh
I have yet to see anyone throwing a tantrum. I seen a lot of justified disappointment about the delay. Why are you trying to minimizing people's feelings about it?
Agreed. Needs to stop insulting, making fun and talk down to people expressing their disappointment.
I don't live on the forum and read every single post so yes it's possible but yesterday was a emotional day for many so I wouldn't hold it against anyone being upset.

There have been tantrums, you have managed to avoid them somehow and I am not sure how you've pulled that one off tbh but hey ho.
Also, expressing dissapointment is valid but at the same time what are they trying to accomplish? Yoshi P already knows the repercussions of his choice and he literally cried with guilt and disappointment. So what is the point of rubbing salt in the wound exactly? He has never had a delayed release and he is not likely to ever do it again if he can help it at all..
People made their priorities around the game, that is fine and all but also not SE's fault that they schedule their life around a game's release, delays happen a LOT but lucky for us rarely in this game. Players chose their priority and Yoshi chose his for the benefit of the game and everyone playing it and unless y'all work 24/7 you can still play the thing on release.
Exactly this. It sucks. I think everyone agrees it sucks. And it really sucks an extra degree for those who have taken time off for the launch that we can't get back or change now (myself included). But, at the end of the day, it is about a video game; an entertainment product. I just don't understand what sort of pound of flesh they want from Yoshida; what sort of punishment is it that they would be happy with. Do you expect him to be fired? To have him pay a fine to the company or to them personally? To call everyone's boss individually, apologize directly, and beg for their time off schedules to be adjusted? The guy is already wrecked and has been shamed both in public and to his company. What more is appropriate over, remember, a video game? There have been tantrums, you have managed to avoid them somehow and I am not sure how you've pulled that one off tbh but hey ho.

The point is it's probably not worth making a person feel even worse about a failing when he already feels awful about it? Over a game that we all know he busted his ass for the last decade to make good for us. "It's just a game"
It's also a game that we would not be so fortunate to have in the current state without Yoshi P and his decisions, being disappointed is ok but it strikes as a bit ungrateful and mean spirited how some people make this a big deal when Yoshi P was clearly gutted to have to do this. Saying things like this is the last straw? You love the game enough to preorder and take days off in the first place and now its the last straw for you? Idk about that person, but if I was on the verge of calling it quits on the game I would NOT be planning my days off around it lmao, similar to the person calling for a several month delay because the world must revolve around them and their retail work life.. If they suffer they feel the urge to drag others down with them, including Yoshida.
So it's less belittling and more pointing out that being mad is ok but flaming the guy that gave you the great game in the first place when now he FINALLY has something go wrong this is the response he gets.. Seriously, grow up a bit and have some understanding. He has worked very hard for us for a long time.
I won't speak on others behalf. Yes I am disappointed in the delay as the next person and is unfortnate for myself as I won't be able to play Endwalker this year or at best end of the year due to a scheduled surgery but what I would liked was more transparency and headsup. Maybe I'm making assumptions but I took away that the delay been known for some while (I hear at least a week prior to PLL) so that's what I had wished for.Exactly this. It sucks. Now will the game go away? No. But I been around for every expansion since ARR and had lot of fun experience the good and the bad that comes with it with my friends and FC mates. It's a big deal to me.
That you just think it's a "video game, whatever insert whatever else belittling phrase" doesn't mean everyone sees it that way.
So please chill. That goes for both sides.
Agreed.
I wouldn't say I'm minimizing, because like most of us I'm also disappointed, but there's a difference between being reasonably disappointed and claiming that this was some god awful hot tragic mess. And ultimately, this is (and really should only be) just a hobby. This is not missing my brother's wedding, or my firstborn's birth. This isn't even missing my kids' little league game. This is "whelp, guess Season 6 of GoT isn't gonna be 2 weeks late; guess I'll rewatch season 5..or maybe check out Downton Abbey instead".
This coming from a guy that had to cancel a very major 2+ week family reunion to Disney World due to the pandemic that was years in the making. It is what it is. Disney will probably still be there. My kids childhood, not so much.
From "the worst thing/disrespectful to players!"
I am writing this today, as SE made a very poor judgment, which effects many of us across the globe, and to this, will cause issues for far too many of us.
December and January is a busy time for retail, and it requires full staff to avoid disruption. Many of us, kept our annual leave days, so we could play and enjoy the Endwalker story at its original release dats, this will now not happen, because of the bad decision to move it into the worst time of year for retail workers. Some like myslef won't be able to enjoy the story until at least February or March now, or to be able to keep up with savage raiding, will have to skip the story entirely, as of this poor new release.
To counter this, and stop you ruining a lot of players fun and the want to enjoy the game and story properly, you need to either honour your original release date, or the release needs to be postponed until at least February or March 2020, so the whole player base can enjoy the story without rushing or skipping, to keep up with endgame progression.
This is one of the worst decisions in SE history along with the making of "The Avengers" game.
To "This is the last straw!"
Just absolutely flawless for the people that have planned vacation off of work (and cannot reschedule for December), MONTHS ahead of time only to be screwed over. This might be the last straw for me and this game.
Queue the white knights attacking me and defending SE.
Fortunately, I'd bet 95% of the player base is mostly unaffected by this, or is taking it well.
