I sat and read through this entire thread, and on one side I see people disappointed about it being impossible to reschedule time off during this time of year. (Myself included. I had to get the week of the 19th requested off 4 months ago due to holiday crunch and there is no chance of a reschedule.). On the other side I see people going "Omg stop attacking the devs!!!" even though literally no one in this thread has attacked the devs outside of going "Well this sucks, hopefully they realize people are upset and take this feedback into consideration in the future" or they're strawmanning and laughing at people who decided to take PTO off for a game.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with being upset over having months worth of planning getting tossed out the window two weeks before a deadline. It is extremely disappointing, and I want to express that I am disappointed; but I'm not going out of my way to yell at the devs. I hope folks are able to reschedule their time off, if not, hopefully the time off can still be used to relax and unwind in this difficult time of year; what with the staffing shortages and shipping delays.

I'm beyond disappointed. For once in decades (I'm that old), I was alone at home, between two jobs , no need to worry about family, lunches, anything. It was me, myself and FF14. Stars were perfectly aligned.
I'm not mad at anyone though. My entiere professional life is subjeted to deadlines, so I understand the situation. it's just... it was so darn perfect for once and now it's gone. /sadpanda

I wonder if 2 weeks will be enough? Doesn't feel like it, but Yoshida seems confidant that it should be enough time.

That said, I still expect server instability once EW does launch, but I guess it would be much worse if it there was no additional 2 weeks of QA?

He says pretty much everything is built and ready, just some minor adjustments and QA is needed. It doesn't sound like a cyberpunk situation where everything is broken.

it's more due to the fact a lot of people took time off to play and now just 2 weeks away they delay it for another 2 weeks. They should of anticipated it but instead work on seasonal events that no one likes honestly for some menial trinkets that people throw away and his attention is divided with ff16 as well. So I can see why some people are angry as hell

I think it's more about dramatic people try to dramatic. I took time off as well. Oh well. That's life. I'm not going to rage cause they want to get it right.

I'm disappointed as well but it's not that deep and after a disastrous month in New World full of bugs, exploits, and fails...7 don't want that here. They can take as long as they need.

Yeah I'm watching and he's crying on stream. But he does assure everyone it's just that they need 2 weeks of further QA. My worry when I first heard was "Is two weeks enough?"

The expansion is complete. its just few things yoshida wants to improve. 2 weeks is sufficient at this point in time.

Exactly. He even acknowledged that it was something he wanted to do personally, knowing full well it would make a lot of people unhappy momentarily. Whether that's true or not is hard to say I suppose, but he seemed genuine.

Well, it's too late to reschedule the PTO I requested for the original early access and launch date. But they apparently had no problems with me using a sizable amount of what was going to rollover into next year that I would have had to use by March to take most of December off... *shrug*

I love to think, what if they pull a No Mans Sky and fix everything....will anybody give it a 2nd chance?

I still play Cyberpunk 2077 from time to time but i can't completely compare No man's sky and cyberpunk together.

Cyberpunk has a lot of coding issue when No man's sky was just missing almost everything that was promised

Pretty unfortunate for me, like many others I won't be able to reschedule my time off. I find it odd how many people are aggressively defensive about people being disappointed as if they're not allowed to be.

That said, this has killed what little hype I had left. The months extra tacked on due to covid, things I like in game getting cut for things I don't, classes getting to the point where "new abilities" are just upgraded old abilities rather than something new for most classes, and now a delay so close to release. I'm confident that the story will be interesting at the very least and it's really the only I have left to look forward to.
