To be honest, while it's sad, so is every mother's death. I honestly don't get why people who are in front of a camera get put on this pedestal. I see people die in my job very often so to me singling out certain individuals based on screen-time borders on absurdity. But then again I never understood the concept of celebrities either.

Sorry, but I have no sympathy left to give on these topics. Because quite frankly the only reason anyone on here cares to make a topic or give their sympathies is because he's e-famous and known. And yes it' sad he lost his mother. But the memorials? Spare me, they wouldn't be around if people didn't know him from some streaming or e-fame, they wouldn't care.

I know this from experience who has lost the parent that raised them, and had an entire community not care at the time.

So don't fake your sympathies to the person just to suck up to them as a fan that pretends they care, as that's worse than not saying anything at all.

I'm going to forgive your ignorance, because you don't speak for me or even have knowledge of why this sad news matters to me. Maybe you were hurt and if so then I'm so sorry for your loss as well. Just because Asmon has a bit of following and people can relate to his life through his streams, doesn't give you the right to come in this thread and cry foul. Hating on people because you see someone get more attention than you for the same reason. It is not the way to go about earning respect and friendships in life, because that's what caring is all about. Your bitterness shows and it's not very appealing. Is this how you get people to care about you, because if it is it saddens me too?

This is the equivalent of 'all lives matter' yes of course it is sad when anyones Mom passes away right now however we are discussing the passing of Asmongolds Mom because it is an event that we are aware of. I promise when you Mom dies, if you let me know I will feel equally sad for you, it's not about playing favourites or caring more because they are celebrities, its because we react to the information we have available

Cause they entertain people, so their fans feel with them out of exactly that reason cause they have a positive connotation to them which makes them care. Based on the service they provide to their fans. Same as most XIV players would be devastated if Yoshi P. or any of the devs would fall ill or anything like that. Cause we have this positive connection with them since they give us joy and happiness.

And as cruel as that now might sound, you don't provide joy and happiness nor any valuable things to a broad audience thus nobody gives a fork about what happens to you since we need to limit the amount of feeling with others, otherwise we would just constantly suffer since people die all the time all around us like flies.

It's the same reason why you would feel sad if the wife of your brother would die, i mean you have no need to be sad if you just go after the logic of things. Doesn't really affect your own personal life but you still feel, hopefully, sad cause it affects your brother and through that you. Taking out of account that you might had a really close relationship to her.

It's extremely gross when you realize some of the people that have come into this thread to post things like that are people that constantly virtue signal, argue about morality and posture about being nice in other threads. They'll make big moral arguments in stupid tanking threads, or mock other people in ToS threads for lacking tact, but turn around and openly criticize people for trying to be sympathetic over a tragic real world death, simply because they don't like the person affected by the loss.
