Okay i think think needs be said, i dont think anyone has an issue with if the person is being a jerk on purpose.

The issue and worry most have is the subjectiveness and stealth report instend of first telling that person you feel uncomfortable/insult (yes this does matter) because we all have different experiences, which gives us differen definations of what is rude/insulting etc

And no im not talking about cursing or purposely name calling to make someone feel bad.

What I mean is when something that ment no harm, that someone who doesnt say they have an issue with it stealth reporting thats what people are worried about. That their innocent harmless things will be taken wrong.

The lines are very subjective with no clear definition

I wouldn't be surprised if they've got a way to track this; especially if the client gives you an error message.

I hope they do because it would be painful to be punished for a network error. I guess it's best to bring a witness (a friend) before running any content in case you get DCed.

The rules haven't changed that I can see. They just gave examples. The only problem is the one people are making out of it. My mom told me 'if you can't say anything nice to someone one it's best not to say anything at all' I live by that. The rules haven't changed, people are over reacting big time.

Thats not about nice or mean its really subjective to the person whats hard about understanding that?

What i consinder nice could be completely different than you. Or just a fun joke that ment no harm.

If somone says "please dont say x" then i gladly apologize and not say it again around them. The issue is not knowing what the other person will or wont take the wrong way

So? Such is life, the next person you meet may not understand that either. So why say it if you have any questions about it? If the thought goes through you mind that you may be about to say something questionable just don't say it. As I said the rules haven't changed, people on this very forum asked for better definition of the rules and they gave you examples. Now people are freaking out and over thinking or being alarmists and cry 'my freedoms' when it boils down to be polite and don't cause other pain. There is enough pain and anguish in this world it doesn't have to be that way in a game we are all suppose to be having fun in. Think before you speak.

The only policy I'm not ok with is the one about random disconnections. Sometimes, I get 90k'd out of nowhere for joining an instance. It usually takes me 2-3 minutes to come back (logging in + queue), so telling people to stop using the Duty Finder system is a bit weird.

I think the purpose of that little caveat was for all the people who try to say their disconnects were accidental, when they "accidentally" disconnect every time they roulette into Prae or Aurum or the same EX trial they don't particularly like. Those are not random, they are intentional, which is what SE is trying to target exactly in their wording.

If you're just disconnecting every now and then randomly, you're not in any danger of being bonked since someone would have to report you first, and the GMs would be able to see your disconnect history and see if it's a specific pattern or not.

People have been saying this. It’s just so many people are either being disingenuous or skipping all other posts and making assumptions. Doesn’t matter how many times its said, it’ll need to be said again. They already have their perception as to why people have issues with the updated rules. Especially with the examples given. They are just sitting on their high horses, being smug and / or passive aggressive while getting their blows in.

Hm, well, I don't like how you said that. Does that mean you shouldn't have said it? Maybe think before you speak.

There is nothing you can possibly say that someone won't get offended by. We live in such a sensitive world where saying "the sky is a beautiful blue today" will offend someone because it's cloudy for them, or they are colour blind, and how dare you be so insensitive...! If you go off the thought process of "if someone will get offended, don't say it" then well, enjoy not talking. But someone will get offended by that, too, as seen by other threads on this forum.

If you are always careful about what you say, it becomes natural and then it's not stressful at all to "remember" to be nice to people. It's just what you do.
