Okay i think think needs be said, i dont think anyone has an issue with if the person is being a jerk on purpose.

The issue and worry most have is the subjectiveness and stealth report instend of first telling that person you feel uncomfortable/insult (yes this does matter) because we all have different experiences, which gives us differen definations of what is rude/insulting etc

And no im not talking about cursing or purposely name calling to make someone feel bad.

What I mean is when something that ment no harm, that someone who doesnt say they have an issue with it stealth reporting thats what people are worried about. That their innocent harmless things will be taken wrong.

The rules haven't changed that I can see. They just gave examples. The only problem is the one people are making out of it. My mom told me 'if you can't say anything nice to someone one it's best not to say anything at all' I live by that. The rules haven't changed, people are over reacting big time.

Thats not about nice or mean its really subjective to the person whats hard about understanding that?

What i consinder nice could be completely different than you. Or just a fun joke that ment no harm.

If somone says "please dont say x" then i gladly apologize and not say it again around them. The issue is not knowing what the other person will or wont take the wrong way

So? Such is life, the next person you meet may not understand that either. So why say it if you have any questions about it? If the thought goes through you mind that you may be about to say something questionable just don't say it. As I said the rules haven't changed, people on this very forum asked for better definition of the rules and they gave you examples. Now people are freaking out and over thinking or being alarmists and cry 'my freedoms' when it boils down to be polite and don't cause other pain. There is enough pain and anguish in this world it doesn't have to be that way in a game we are all suppose to be having fun in. Think before you speak.

I am always njce but ppl can and will take harmless things wrong.

You realize in real life people get offende if someone holds a door open for them.

lol again, it's not about being nice. No one is complaining about being "nice". But being blunt is not rude. Being straightforward is not rude. Sticking to facts is not rude. What people are upset about is the over-censoring of speech. I can't say, "we need to do x, make sure to not do y" or "we wiped because X wasn't covered by the person in charge of X". I need to say, "Well, I think it might have been possible that the method we used in this run was not the most efficient course of action. Would it be alright with everyone if we tried [correct method] or would you like to try [failed method] again?" Like, that's so unnatural, robotic, and it doesn't solve anything. If someone doesn't know that they're doing something wrong, saying "can we try this" when only one person wasn't doing it, isn't going to fix anything. Because people choose to be ignorant. They refuse to believe they did something wrong. So if you generalize, it doesn't address the actual issue because it doesn't address the person causing the issue.

No one is supporting being rude. However, I find it utterly amusing that everyone saying, "People just don't wanna be nice. It's not that hard" are always condescending and snarky.

There is nothing you can possibly say that someone won't get offended by. We live in such a sensitive world where saying "the sky is a beautiful blue today" will offend someone because it's cloudy for them, or they are colour blind, and how dare you be so insensitive...! If you go off the thought process of "if someone will get offended, don't say it" then well, enjoy not talking. But someone will get offended by that, too, as seen by other threads on this forum.

What is it you take exception with? The rules haven't CHANGED. People asked for examples and they were given. Now people want to over think it. Such is life.
