"Sailor Pluto" banned name? cannot create

I tried to create a character named "Sailor Pluto" like the Sailor Moon character and I always receive the following error message

"3035. That character name cannot be used. Please input another."

A Google search of the message tells me that the game blocks offensive names but I fail to see how "Sailor Pluto" is an offensive name. It is literally an anime character from an anime for kids.

Either someone already has that name in your server of choice, or it could be something related to copyright.

Either A) someone using it or B) you need to restart the client. Google search the error

If it was already taken, the error message would have said "This name is not available" NOT "That character name cannot be used."

I know because I have received "This name is not available" when I tried to create Princess Celestia.

Searched the lodestone, and there are plenty of Sailor Pluto's. The only thing I can think of is it's taken on your server, or your client has a problem. (Or possible that it was blocked by copyright after so many have been created.)

Not necessarily. In the words of the MNK optimization document from a while back, "Game's Haunted."

Yes, normally it'd return the "This name is not available." However, it's worth noting that I've seen character creation do Wonky Strangeness when the person with a given name is currently off the world where you're trying to create. (I.e., they're doing world-visiting, or they're online but in Eureka or Bozja or whatever.) In which case, the short, computationally-cheap name check done during character creation seemingly returns a "Hey, that's not a character on this world!" but the presumably-more-computationally-expensive-and-thorough check done when it actually attempts to create the character still fails out -- quite rightly -- because the name is in fact in use on the server.

And when I search Sailor Pluto, I get "Your search yielded no results." despite the fact that you have found some and linked me to one on Ultros

A quick Lodestone search shows that there's one on Behemoth, too, though given it's apparently a disused level 2 gladiator character, I'd be surprised if they had been online on another world when you tried making one.

But regardless, the error wasn't a banned name, but rather that it is demonstrably already in use.

I saw Sailor Pluto in Behemoth when searching in Lodestone. Only lv2 in 1 class, though.
