Would changing the name help in some sense?

I would argue that it would better classify the job, since "limited" is misleading for aforementioned reasons. Heck, "limited jobs" could be moved away from the caster column into its own separate category, as someone nicely suggested in a separate "Other Battle Systems" thread about "limited jobs" that wasn't specific to Beastmaster.

Yeah I said changing the name would help with some things such as reducing the confusion that some have not knowing that blu is side content and not a real job. Changing the name away from "limited" wouldn't change the restrictions the system has so wouldn't do anything about what myself and others despise about the system.

Neither labeling the "post-processed dogfood" more clearly as "dogsh*t" nor following the reverse as to euphemize it will make it any less fecal in nature, though.

The main problem remains: it's limited to a certain span of content, just as a certain section of content is limited to it.

Couldn't you literally apply the exact wording of your second sentence toward several other jobs though for reasons that I previously stated? It seems kind of broadly written and could also be used by others for say a certain gatherer job that they didn't personally like, among other possible examples.

Your first sentence also contains loaded language, since not everyone here thinks that the current gameplay mechanics around Blue Mage are necessarily bad; they certainly have room for gradual improvements though, as can certain mechanics across any job, but with regards to what and how will differ between different groups of people.

There's a difference between a non-combat staple like Gathering or Crafting, even if I'm honestly not a fan of their being quite so isolated as they are (mostly just because I dislike that gatherers, having being made complete non-combatants, are restricted to grinding small, contrived node loops instead of being allowed to interact with the larger world), and having a "Combat class, but not for group content, unless it's 10 levels outdated, and at a lower cap, and therefore not relevant to any expansion for so long as that expansion is current."
