Will Beastmaster appear in any Endwalker content patches?

Limited jobs were talked about a lot and are frequently mentioned to a notable visual degree across Duty Finder text, but we still only have one such job, which is kind of surprising to me even though I'm sure it's a lot of work. I'm expecting the next one to be Beastmaster, which is why I posted this thread under the DPS Roles category, but I'm kind of curious as to when other people think that the next limited job will release, even there even is another one planned for Endwalker at all?

Beastmaster would be really fun to see; you could have to tame field enemies and then be able to summon them to fight with you in place of your chocobo companion, and this would also allow people who have already maxed out their battle chocobo levels to have something new to work on again with regards to the companion system. There could even be cute housing options for having them as a pet in your house depending on the creature's size; I would love to have a small Spriggan friend hopping around my apartment or free company's house, for instance. In dungeons and trials, they could work like the egi for Summoner used to work where they move independently while having their own health bars, and instead of you attacking an enemy directly, your skills would be based around issuing instructions to your companion or taking care of their health via actions like Sustain (previously removed spell) or positional commands.

Any guesses on when another limited job will appear, or if it might not be Beastmaster?

Thanks a lot to any Final Fantasy XIV developers or designers who may happen to read this as well; your continued work on the game is extremely appreciated, and I hope that I'm not being unintentionally rude by thinking out loud like this.

We have no idea, but blu was added in a content patch so it's possible they'll add bst later on.

I feel this might overlap a bit with summoner since the beasts people would want are the bosses.

Yes. Though I also said yes to the same question during Shadowbringers and was proven wrong, so we will see.

However, during ShB, Blue Mage got 2 content updates. (in 5.15, and 5.45).
Now that BLU is level 70, it will likely only get one content update during Endwalker to bring it to 80.
So, there is room for a new limited job in 6.45 I guess...

Oh and to have even more people play the job, they will have Matsuno write the scenario for it and have it be a sequel to the Bozja questline (Bozja completion not required to play through this)

I feel BST and PUP will be the next limited jobs, which makes me sad because I used to main them and BLU in XI.

Honestly, while I love both of those jobs, I would rather they not add them at all to the game then make them limited jobs (and PUP is the job I currently most want added to XIV). :/
While XIV's BLU is interesting and amusingly flashy, I just couldn't get into it, only getting to level 50 and having a handful of ARR spells. From what I played and seen via videos, its gameplay seems very slow (due only using only spells), clunky (due to having little-to-no oGCDs to weave), and spammy (using the same handful of spells outside of Carnival puzzles). I would say the most enjoyment I got out of playing BLU was getting spells from monsters out in the world versus in dungeons (I haven't even tried trials or raids yet).
I don't really want that treatment for either job. >x>

Hopefully never. Limited jobs are a waste of resources. I would vastly prefer getting 3 normal jobs that I can use in current content at the start of each expac as opposed to 2 and one that can only be used in content I've already beaten.

Well instead you're just getting 2 normal jobs... so why not get that third limited instead of nothing at all?

Providing they find away to let all limited jobs share content and pool most of their resources, then it wouldn't be an issue.
Limited jobs are another form of content, like PVP, Crafting or Gathering. The former has regular updates and seasons, and the latter has Diadem, Restoration, etc. Why can't we have other forms of content in a themepark MMO?
Limited jobs provide this, while reusing content, battle content, to create something new. BLU has given us an entirely new format of raiding, without needing to add in any additional content. If anyone is thinking battle content is getting stale, repetitive and too 'balanced', well BLU and other potential limited jobs is the answer to that.

Limited jobs also require heavier investment in maintaining, so if you have 2 limited jobs who require their own unique content that CANNOT participate in other forms of content built for every job minus limited ones, you run into the issue of having content sinks that take away from main dev time or just get neglected all together. As they are currently
They're also largely a burden, they'd be better off making Puppeteer or Beastmaster into regular jobs so they only updates they need to do are balancing / tuning after the release, not devote resources to wholesale new mechanical experiences just for the job to be played.
And yes I enjoy BLU Mage, but I would have preferred a new unlimited Job that I could use regularly in all sorts of content instead.

I don't think that we're automatically entitled to new jobs in an expansion. I also feel that continuously adding in lots of new jobs when there isn't the dev team size to support it is asking for trouble.

BLU injected a ton of new life into older fights. The action acquisition and levelling process creates a barrier to entry, but once you start working through the challenges and logs it becomes really interesting. I'm sorry if you never got into it, because you're really missing out.

Much like the Lost Action systems of Eureka and Bozja, these systems also allow the devs to break the rules and test ideas that could be incorporated into the main game if popular. There are plenty of rides in the theme park that you aren't going to ever get on, but it's never a waste of resources as long as there are people out there willing to do it. We should be encouraging creativity, not stifling it.
