I had a similar reaction when I heard Zepla (DNC main) say that SMN felt like Dancer. I think I'm already going through the last stage of grief at this point and just accepting what SMN became lol.I was watching some video tour videos and was kind of sadly-laughing at one of the suggested openers for SMN. It was mostly just mashing one button and then weaving in the "special" button. Throw in some Aether "management" and that was pretty much the whole job. Guess it was pretty to look at, though.
Maybe changing the name and animations would be nice. But, I don't agree that removing the only aspect of the job that doesn't basically force you to push is a good thing.
I mean, Xeno also got a temp ban during ShB and has a known history of harassing players, using slurs, sending his Twitch chat to harass people on Twitter, and just generally being an incredibly toxic individual, something he himself has admitted to. In the Reddit thread discussing his ban, people were trying to figure out what Twitch clip got him banned and there were many clips posted, like this one for example. So yeah, he didn't get invited to the Endwalker Media tour, but is it because he asked Yoshi-P a question about Living Dead, or is it because he's an incredibly toxic person who SE literally slapped upside the head with a ban? Gonna lean towards the latter there.
looks like spell speed is going to need stacked like black mage it seems based on Balance. That is, if you want to optimize

Did you notice that 40 sec window is 66% of your rotation? Demi/Phoenix phases are braindead phases, while that 40 sec can be used for optimization. You can choose if you wanna use ifrit or garuda or titan at first. It brings you some flexibility. It is good Primals last only a short amount of time because it allows you to burst a lot of damage in a short period if you want to.Yea but how much choice do you need in a small window like that? IDK, I guess I prefer a more structured system with a rotation through the primals (Garuda > Ifrit > Shive) (Titan > Ramuh > Leviathan). Honestly I would have like to see something that was similar to 4.0 were Aethercharge would grant summons and using all three would unlock Demi Phase.
As for Carbuncle and the lose of a pet, could they have found a middle ground other than it just stand around? Why not after using, say Summon Ifrit or Titan, the Egi version comes back instead of carby? No EA, no enkindle. Just let them auto attack while on Sic like before 5.X. Once the 30s timer of Elemental Attunement is up the Egi reverts back to carby.
I mean all of the media tour people I’ve seen said the new iteration feels really good to play. The three primal summons are all slightly different.
Not to mention “summon Garuda, ifrit and titan” are now all actual spells now.
With current summoner you might swap between Garuda and ifrit in a dungeon for trash vs, the boss, but now you’ll be pressing each of those buttons once per minute.
I like that all three casters are very different from one another.
Old Summoner got me into the HORRIBLE habit of tapping each key fifty times to make sure the click registered. I even do it in other games now.
This old man with joint issues is so happy for the rework. Sososososo happy.
or they had much more and bigger influencers they wanted to invite this time due to all the new WoW content creators joining.I mean, Xeno also got a temp ban during ShB and has a known history of harassing players, using slurs, sending his Twitch chat to harass people on Twitter, and just generally being an incredibly toxic individual, something he himself has admitted to. True, he probably wasn't reinvited for those reasons.I mean, Xeno also got a temp ban during ShB and has a known history of harassing players, using slurs, sending his Twitch chat to harass people on Twitter, and just generally being an incredibly toxic individual, something he himself has admitted to. But was his feedback taken in account? Living Dead remains the same and it's a strong request.
Drak also asked for MNK's chakra to be allowed to overflow, something MNK community has been asking since Brotherhood.
Will they listen to it? We definitely needs more interview like Drak's, transmitting direct feedback from player to producer while also trying to figure what the design team thinks when developping Job kit.
I'd really love if Streamers were able to stream the Media tour server and share their thougts on live with their community.
If that's true then that's going to be great for people who happen to like playing both, then they can prog on smn for the res and mobility phases and then go blm once they know where they can optimize their cast times.
I personally don't mind the aetherflow "mechanic" as it's a nice little base kit of the Arcanist - they usually have Drain/Syphon style spells.
The only thing that should be gone is Fester or at least rename it (maybe Aetheric Boom as we're already a wandering Ultima Weapon at this point? haha)
You could also make a high level trait that transforms them into primal channeling versions like Alexander lazer beams.
