I dont mind the 2 windows, infact I prefer it even though i'm playing at 720p on a 15" laptop screen O.o.

If for example chat was just in a different tab you would have to switch tabs to check what people are saying whereas with 2 windows the chat can always be infront of you, then the battle spam in another.

I do however like the idea of more than 2 tabs for different classes so it eliminates the need to constantly swap filters every time you change classes.

And the one click maximize is a brilliant idea, when someone answers a question just as people decide to spam chat and its impossible to scroll up to see the answer.

The feature I miss the most, besides the one-touch (or was it a two-touch?) window blow up the OP rightly mentions, was the equally easy filter toggle you could use when the window was enlarged. I always wished a feature that would've allowed you to define your own filters had been added, but the /s > /t > /l > /p toggle worked well. I think they should, at least, add controller-based cycling through our pre-defined tabs to the current FFXIV setup.

oh yeah i forgot about that one, it was a nifty thing too, made it way easy to see all linkshell or all say or part in a click or 2. always thought ffxi chat box was always better then the ones in games i played after it...witch is basically the one we have in ffxiv. other then we have 2sets rather then one of each. witch is nice too. though i've yet to use both for anything yet.

Honestly for 2.0, I'd really just like to see them completely copy a WoW style interface.. They work, they greatly reduce a portion of the learning curve for a large number of MMO players, and... well... Let's admit it, it's kinda tough to beat a modable WoW UI. And since we get Flash for our mods instead of LUA.. well, it can only be better.
