I've said my piece about how clunky Scholar is, however, after taking a step back and analyzing the other healers, thanks to the ability leak, I still believe that there is still care put into healing.
I was scared of the Divination changes, at first, however, after looking at Astrodyne, I believe it is a HUGE improvement, because not only do we not have to frantically pump out cards to bring out our group buff in raids, we also don't have to bank our seals in dungeons thanks to the one second recast timer on the new self buff. Damage was also changed for Astrologian via the damage buff to Earthly star, the new (not so new from what I've been told) Lord of Crowns, and the new dps spell Macrocosmos. Sure we're still going to be spamming one dps, most of the time, but considering we're now going to be continuously playing the card minigame on top of using these abilities, Astrologian should feel more engaging than Shb.
Of course Sage looks really fun as well with its mode swapping and what looks to be a more engaging dps kit. Being a more GCD focused healer and the addersting mechanic makes me feel like I can actually use the job 's whole kit without eating a DPS loss in vain.
White Mage definitely feels less stagnant thanks to the new GCD changes, and it seems like they have their water magic back. While I would also like to see their earth and wind magic back while making glare the lily dump or a potency buff to misery or just make the lily abilities oGCDs, it at least feels like a step in the right direction.
I am the first to complain when I feel like a class in any game feels like it's underperforming, but while Scholar should seriously be looked at, to say the devs don't care at all about healing isn't accurate since they have given us some amazing QoL changes such as the faster GCD casts and 400 mp AoEs.
