To be fair. I still enjoy Mario Kart. I just feel like they need to add new tracks to play on.

I enjoyed Chocobo Racing back on PS1. The only other Mario Kart style racing game I recall enjoying was Mod Nation Racers on PSP.

It should be this game's equivalent of a blue shell. Except this one grabs your character and their cart and suplexes them.

Considering the original Chocobo Racing on the PS1 was never a very popular title back in it's heyday - reviews at the time were generally mixed to negative considering it a poor cart-racer and trying to ride Mario Kart's coattails - SE did have planned to release a sequel back on the 3DS a few years ago only to scrap the project, so this has taken me completely by surprise, as I loved the original, as horribly flawed as it was (Bahamut's Megaflare attack was just too OP once you unlocked it, and the graphics often did some very bad things re texture tearing and glitches at times).

But it also gave players a sneak peak of the then in development FFVIII (Deling City was a secret track, and Squall a secret racer, driving the blue convertiable he briefly steals during the assassination mission), and the other secret characters were also fun - even Aya Brea's NYPD squad car from Parasite Eve was a racer! So this has me intriguied (although why does White Mage have a car, she flew on a magic carpet in the original. :P).

As for a special crossover event with FFXIV, one would be fun to have, but I don't see SE bothering, as they haven't done events for any crossover events for any other spinoff title (for instance, Dissidia NT never got a crossover event, and that has Y'shtola and Zenos as playable characters and the Praetorium as a battleground!) - and besides, we're still waiting on a FFVII crossover which was long rumoured, and yet nothing came of that either. It's just not likely I'm sorry to say.

But I suppose the character would be entirely lost on people who haven't played FF 14...

He's dragging the tire behind him as it's tied to hos waist. The lore can be something about it being weight because he's too damn fast.

I wonder if we'll see and XIV cameos since we have FF1 White Mage (granted she's Chocobo's buddy in most of the games) and Black Waltz from IX... I'd wager it would be Y'Shotla since she's become the mascot of the game.
