Thanks for your input. But yes, its not helping to fill the whole thread with: "the devs said".
Besides its a "non-argument" for your own opinion on that topic.

The only benefit from it is that you level two jobs at once. Aside from that, look at SMN and SCH. They share only one spell. So, what is the point not having two completely separate job instead?
Even their weapons are not shared (even though they share similar design).
So, adding a second job to each class is a bit pointless.
Thanks for your own personal opinion.

And first: the game has tons of hours and content to put in (and new upcoming full new jobs as well) and the content is growing extremely. Of course the most obvious positive benefit would be that these jobs would share the exp / level just like SCH/SMN.

So if you level up a beast master for example (dps / pet tamer class) and you normally arent into tanks that much you automatically would level up warrior, too (and maybe would enjoy highlevel WAR then, too who knows). So it also would increase the playerbase of multiple class roles, too on the other hand. I for example played my maurader until lv 14 or something? (and i play since 2011 ;D). Yes maybe i am weird, i play since 2011 and havent maxed out all, but i for a reason play here and then And slowly when coming back to the game i feel i cant keep up with the content or leveling up classes i would like to play. For me it wouldnt need complete new classes all the time, thats why i liked the idea to have the same base class / playstyle with a different twist to it. (which could be refreshing, too)

Secondly we miss out on different specs in this game, a second job would give the players the opportunity to switch over to a slightly or different play style of the same base class.
How often i hear that people wished to play a pure ranger class instead of becoming a bard - or Final Fantasy XI players (or pet class lovers) would like the idea to play a dragoon with a wyvern pet. A second job class would give us the opportunity to have a variety of the same base class without having skill trees / specs.

I mean if you play the same job with the same skill set over and over, wouldnt it be refreshing to switch over to a slightly different skill set at times?

But why couldn't you simply have a Ranger job that would not be tied to the archer class then?
Even regarding the leveling aspect, if time is really an issue for you, I would argue that it is a lot more time efficient to release a separate job.
For example, imagine I currently main Dragoon and don't have anything else levelled up.
Next expansion comes out, and they announce Ranger and an increased level cap at 99.
    Two options :
    1) It branches out of archer. What does it mean? I have to level my archer from 1 to 30, and then continue playing with my low level rotation until I reach much higher levels
    2) Ranger is released as a separate job. Starts at level 80, and potentially have immediately access to a large portion of its toolkit.

So basically, your options is good for people who only leveled the class which is getting a new job.
But option 2 is better for people who only leveled one class.
Option 1 might also be a bit better for people who have everything leveled up and don't want to spend too much time leveling (but as someone said earlier, I think having many jobs to level up is part of what makes roulettes healthy).
Personally, I know I would rather level each job individually though. But that might be a bit masochist.
