Is there a conspiracy for lvl capped players to ignore materia?

I'm all for materia melding. It does help greatly. But I do understand that we are 2 months (less than 2 for EA) out from the next expansion, so it probably doesn't matter as much now. Would I cringe to see someone in full 530 gear with 0 melds? Absolutely. There's no excuse for it. Even so, I would simply let them go about their business. It's their choice, for better or worse. Chances are someone, somewhere will point it out to them. They will either care or not give a crap.

That's a good mindset to have, it's just reality that most people don't have that mindset. Even if they do, most people are too casual to get to the point of contributing as much as they could. A lot of people will return to the game, clear the latest story dungeons and alliance raids, do a few expert roulettes, do the latest normal raids, start bozja, then stop playing for a few months and in that time they didn't always manage to get the highest item level or materia they could. Or they don't play for the content, like if they just do roleplaying or mostly synced roulettes where materia doesn't count.

Well, melds only make good players better. They don't make bad players good.

If I'm on an alt job I rarely play, I'm not going to meld it, because it's rarely used.

My raid jobs are fully melded.

Most of the people you do content with in roulettes are not good enough to take advantage of said melds.

I suppose that's fair. Maybe I should put more effort into looking for like minded FCs or linkshells. Do people still use linkshells?

I understand what you're saying, but I think calling it a burden or laziness is a bit overdramatic. There's not one piece of regular content that would fail without the use of materia.

Personally, I rarely even check other players' gear (aside from glamour curiosity) and just worry about myself. I slot Materia for myself because I want to contribute as much as I can, but I don't feel the need to chastise other players who don't. If another player is causing problems with completing the content, then it is more likely how they are playing the job than whether or not they have materia in their gear.

Depends on what content you're complaining about players not being melded. If you're ilvl synced your materia is as good as nothing, so unless it's end game stuff it's really not as big of a deal as you're making it out to be?

I've actually had people refuse to start a fight because I wasn't melded before and demanded I meld before they pulled (Since I was a DPS). Then got vote kicked when I melded low ranked materia since that was all I had.

People really need to calm down about the small stuff in this game, but that's a lot of the english forums honestly.

I think that happens sometimes on Chaos and Light. It's a culture difference.

The expert roulettes give you free materias, extracting is easy, yet almost no players I see use materia. Am I taking crazy pills? Also your soulbind is faster when you have materia equipped do what's the deal? Someone please explain why so many choose to not have extra power?

They don't raid Savage or do EXs, would be my guess.
