If you think adding more CDs would 'force' people (especially people new to the MMO genre) to use them, you are wrong though.
Having some synergy between offense and defense doesn't work either. You would be surprised how many dark knights do not use TBN. Or how many Paladin just keep their gauge at 100 all the time.
Oh and the amount of CDs we have for big pulls is more than enough, you just need to learn how to use them.

People who don't know how to manage their CDs will not know better if their hotbar is flooded, they will want to press 1-2-3 all the time to make damage. That's all.
I think your misunderstanding what im trying to say. does a defensive cooldown. need to be just a defensive cooldown. could it be tied to one of your dps abilites that causes triggered respone making you pop defensive cooldown when you make the right steps. why does it have be just potency. this what trying to say merging abilities on tanks isn't a bad way to go about it cause then there gonna press those abilities anyway. might as well reward them for doing it right
