Log in and head to Syrcus Trench. Talk to the Ironworks npc holding onto the beacon. Enjoy your trip to the Ocular. Not the Aetheryte.Riastrad are we playing the same game? As soon as you end up on the first you land out in Lakeland and the guy who looks like one of the triplets greets you with the whole "You don't see many people out here are this time of night" you look askance a d have two options one saying something along the lines of how is it night or its as bright as day. He laughs talking about it being a joke from 100 years ago and his grandfather would say to the barman at closing time "and pray when has there been a dark night not for a bloody hundred years." He sees our confusion the chocobo comes over to us at a point he offers us a drug from his wine bottle then tells us to go to the chrystarium. Once we get to the outside we are confronted by Lyna who asks us where we are from we have three choices stay silent our starting city or the source.
She doesn't believe us the pulls out her weapoms we are faked out by her attacking sin eater and a ring drops kts the alt version of the three brothers ring because flash back and we saw it on his hand.... the exarch comes running over takes us takes us to the Gare apolgizes for us not being in the crystarium because his magicks were off , takes us inside and then PROCEEDS TO TAKE US TO THE AETHERYTE. The only times we end up back in the Crystal Tower is after the initial summons.

Just my opinion. Won't lose sleep if you don't like it.
