    Is Minfilia always useless ?

I mean Louisoix was the boss, he kicked ass. He even was able to withstand the the power of elder primal , for a time. She basically doesn't have any fighting powers and is commander-in-chief of Scions of the Seventh Dawn. The organization that is dedicated with eliminating primal treat. Theoretically she should be all powerfull , but in thruth she is the weakest of the all . It doesn't makes sense. Raubahn is the leader of immortal flames because he is the strongest and the most loyal of the flames and yet Minfilia is the leader is the leader of scions despite being the weaking of them.
Can someone explain this paradox ? Even Papalymo would be a better leader then her.
    Cheers,

LOL don't worry that's not an uncommon opinion. And Minfilia serves a greater purpose later in the story so please look forward to it.

It's really annoying that people call Minfilia useless. I'll give you that they do her a disservice by not better highlighting her abilities, but she's the one who's running the Scions. She's the one who's managing your missions and making sure that everything's running smoothly. The fact that the organization is able to maintain close connections with the city-states to the point of being able to arrange meeting with their leaders on a regular basis is due to her work to show that they're a functional group even after Louisoix's passing.

Being a leader doesn't have anything to do with whether you can beat up primals the easiest, it means that you are best able to negotiate with internal and external forces and manage your resources to accomplish your goals.

Also side note, but pretty much all of the scions that are relevant in ARR can't touch a primal since none of them except Min and WoL have the echo.

The problem with Minfillia is that she's a diplomat and an administrator. So she doesn't get many chances to show her skills, since they happen off-screen. Dont worry, with as few spoilers as possible... it gets better.

That is why i think Papalymo would be better. He has brains and actually isn't as naive as Minfilia and Alphinaud .

Minfillia isn't naive though? She knows exactly why the Scions as a whole turned down the "offer" they were given by Lolorito for an aetherite in Vespers Bay. Because they know he and many others would want them to do favors. Another part of Minfillia's problem is a lot of the action she was seen doing was in 1.0 where she was in charge of the path of the 12. Where she sent out others who had the echo to not only find more with it, but to research it. I know many think they would want an already sluggish quest back in 2.0 to have us arrive with delegates exiting the solar either in the waking sands or rising stones and see them grumbling and then give the WoL a look with the WoL giving them a shrug before walking into the Solar. Or have her give the WoL the one more minute gesture while she's on a linkpearl conversation that's not the two times she does so with Krile. People would complain about how an already slow thing is even slower than it needs to be. Heck one of the reasons she even gets kidnapped is due to Midgardsormr depowering our blessing of light.

"The strong should lead" sounds like garlean propaganda! Mask off, Gaius!

More seriously, why must she have powerful magicks to literally fill paperwork, cross intels, dispatch people, and other non-action role, in an organization all about gathering intel, watching threats and *sometimes* acting on it because they have the WoL.
To build on your Ul'dah parallel, Nanamo has Raubahn, Minfilia has us.

Nanamo is only there because she is royal blood. Raubahn could do papawork all the same.

This is such a strange thing to say when Raubahn explicitly trusts and tried to politically empower Nanamo and when Raubahn's military position only exists because the two of them worked together to create it (which isn't to say he wouldn't still have political power since he is on the Syndicate).

Military might is only one of many potential qualifiers for leadership, it's a disservice to both characters to imply that it is the only qualifier.
