I know it's hard to understand but telling the truth isn't an insult even if it hurts. It's just simply the truth.

I mean you can for sure challenge me on my points, i am open for debates. But i don't think you can deny that NA is mostly known for having the worst prisons, much crime and even more gun violence.

So yeah, it's funny. That is NA culture. And they bring it into the game too, only cause NA is basically still the wild west doesn't mean the rest of us just have to swallow it. And we don't and i am glad for that tbh. Glad that certain behaviour is actually not tolerated and punished.

I have a hard time believing that you can get one year or a fine for an insult in Germany tho...
Maybe if we're talking about hate speech but we're getting into territory at that point where you run into issues in NA too.
Free speech is not absolute in NA either, you can't yell '' fire '' in a cinema and you can get punished in other ways if you yell racist things in public.
Even if they don't punish you for speech they can still punish you for disorderly conduct or something, same with harassment and threats that's still a free speech issue and it's still limited.

Generally speaking tho I do agree that whenever I see people talk about free speech in the context of NA it tends to be to defend maniacs and people being garbage.
Like I get it in principle, but at the same time some people are actually a legit danger to society and lead to actual harm.
I don't want to get into current specifics to derail and cause more arguments but there are people who have a lot of blood on their hands and I am not particularly interested in defending their right to continue causing harm

You can get a fine if you hurt a persons honor. That can be achieved through words, insults. Not only slurs but ofc slurs are the most prominent part of this. But yeah if i start to call you names you could sue me here. Ofc the 1 year sentence would be on probation and only if you do it again and again, at some point the judge has also enough of you running around calling people the b-word and they might punish you harder.

But yeah. That's how it is here. You can't just run around and do what you want.
