Yes and re-dye em every time with expensive dyes. Or always needing that retainer next to me...

You can get craftable items again from the market board easily. You can get most loot easily from the market board or by unsyncing the content you got it from.
Yup until "everyone" does that and no one sells anything anymore. Yes there mats/dyes i cant get from beast tribes etc but 1. i gotta pay em unlike farmed stuff and 2. i dont wanna travel around the world to craft a sword for our newbie...

And sure we just did some Tsuko ex... about 30 kills got me 0 mats dropped and 1 from the weapons....

So you can safely get rid of most items because they are easy to get again.
Yes but why? Why am i supposed to waste time cause i dont need that glue for 115 crafted weapons NOW but know that i will use it as soon some newbie needs something? I wanna stock my crafting mats - i dont mind a few cheap ones i can get from my merchant npc but honestly, as least at every expansions basic mats to them, or let us upgrade em by raising out FC level... anything.

It hurts me to sell stuff i gain from tearing apart dungeon drops cause i know id need the mats at some point... and dont get me started on Airships n stuff where you need x00 of stuff...

Yes you can call us lazy for wanting to stock our crafting mats but so is SE lazy for going forward and remove mats... we dont need 5-10 new woods, metals, stones and cloth every expansion... and dont get me started on the special mats from maps...

And my main problem the whole mess of token... the current relic alone eats like what? 11 slots and im not even at the last stage??
I got an retainer with at least 12 slots eureka trash but i wont throw that away as i definitely wanna do more weapons at some point and see no reason to start over from 0.

The whole raid token mess... just reduce the number of last patchs token needed to 1 and ill consider refarming omega gear instead of keeping it...
At least they got rid of old coins, that was a start...

Stop blaming only us players for SE not giving a dam about preventing that.

Selling all of your unwanted stock keeps the marketboard stimulated.
Hoarding mats is very much not healthy for the game.

Nonsense. The markets will not fall apart because a tiny handful of high end crafters are holding onto materials for future use.

What isn't healthy for the game is how this playerbase does mental gymnastics to try and explain why we shouldn't get QoL. You aren't "defending" the devs, chances are if there was enough demand for more inventory or another free retainer they'd be happy to know and would look into it. They want to know what we want. All these "manage ur inventory better lol" comments are the most unhealthy thing for the game because it's just shooting down feedback and suppressing it, which creates silent leavers in the long term when there are too many annoyances that they feel will never change.

I already manage my inventory. I don't hold currencies or cheap materials or glam and I converted everything to NQ, but I'm still tight on bag space. I also enjoy having a stockpile of useful mats to craft things for people or my house at any time. We need one more free retainer and some pruning/merging of excess materials. That's my opinion.

No, because if you were given 1000 free inventory slots you'd fill them up and then complain that you need more.
It's been proven over various games, it doesn't matter what your inventory cap is, most players just suck at inventory management. You will use all of what you're given and then need more.
We used to have a fraction of the inventory we have today, and some things such as the glamour dresser you can say that "we keep getting more items to add to it" but your main inventory needn't be constantly full. You can ditch all of your low level mats, pots and foods, you can stop collecting old raid currencies, you can throw away all of those mats you're holding onto "just in case" that sell for pennies.

I occasionally craft and fish, and I get the mats I need for those crafts at the time, usually gathered myself. I have a retainer that's full of some of the less common mats, and all my dyes, and a retainer for some miscellaneous stuff. My chocobo saddlebag is for materia, totems/raid currencies, and some limited tokens things like chocobo feathers, etc. My main inventory is never more than half full, (usually half a dozen each of pots, foods, currencies and some of my current mats), mainly because I routinely use the empty half for moving over all my superfluous gear for GC trade ins.
    Just keep your inventory tidy.

I'm not "defending" anyone. I am explaining why it won't happen, and why it would only be shifting the goalposts.
We're never going to get another free retainer, because our two free retainers is already established. Giving us one more free retainer means that everyone who has purchased additional retainers is automatically paying for one less retainer. That's a massive loss of profits instantly wiped out, they have zero reason to do that, they're backed into a corner on retainers. A far more likely scenario, is additional slots in one of the other side inventories, like the Armoire or the Glamour dresser. Or potentially an expanded tacklebox. But all of these are problematic because of the games spaghetti code, see my post above.
