Damn, didn't know those were the only options! Coping paying 30 dollars for something already in the game for years by saying at least it ain't locked behind one game mode. It's no wonder SE gets away with it.Square Enix is still a bussiness, what goes and what doesnt in the mog station depends on their marketing team not the ties something has to the game.
Also still way better than it being locked behind Feast.
Also people really assuming it takes less or equal resources to make a new race over a single mere mount is beyond me /sweat
Do you?
SE do have several gacha games.
It's not that it's unacceptable, but rather a jerk move from them. CC mount could have been ultimate, pvp, or the next BLU mount, but no gotta milk the players more I guess even though we already have to pay for subscription.
could have been, but does not mean it should have been.
Like I said, as long as the quality of the game content does not come at the cost of the cash shop stuff. I personally don't mind this. MMORPGS are not as profitable as people make it out to be.
It's rare that I feel really dissapointed with one of their decisions, but this is one of them.
What a shame.
After all the cheering from the community about how "cheap" the Lunar Whale turned out to be I can't say I'm surprised about this.
I'm sure the screenshots of hundreds of people in a Cruise Chaser train will be coming soon enough and it'll be pretty obvious why it's on the Mogstation.![]()
Not as profitable as mobile games for sure. But in every single earning reports from SE the last few years a lot of credit is given to XIV for their financial success.

The cash shop certainly helps though, I give you that.
I still don't like having this specific mount there.
