Kay, well, you're free to disagree. But people seem to just casually gloss over the fact that about half the media this company has ever released has been about one step short of garbage. And FFXIV, as much as I might like a lot of what it has to offer, is one of their weaker story efforts.

By the way, while we're talking movies, I seem to recall them struggling to do one of those at some point...

This is a hard disagree from me. I'm a huge Final Fantasy fan and also played most other SE titles and FFXIV is by FAR the best Final Fantasy story ever told. It even has my all time favorite FFVI beat.
This is all but lazy, anyone who put some time and thought into the story agrees that FFXIV is all but one of their weaker story efforts.

The only weak thing I'd agree uppon here would be that some quests take longer than they should but thats mostly due to the MMO aspekt of the game.
