Well Baby deserved those. It should be illegal.

Didn't he try it during stormblood expansion and end up buying a level boost?
Might remember wrong but pretty sure he had an video up called "Final Fantasy XIV Leveling Is Awful" or something like that.

Sure, why not?
More advertisement for the game is great. I don't really watch the guy and couldn't care less if he's doing it for subs, hated the game in the past or whatever. Anything that brings even more attention to the game, negative or positive, is a good thing. The simple fact that so many people are jumping on the bandwagon and giving the game a genuine try is finally dispelling that notion many have had of ff14 as "that weeb game" and people are realizing there's a solid MMO here. Great.
Jump aboard, plenty of room.
FFXIV fanboys kept telling him "FFXIV is the MMO alternative to WoW!" so he went in expecting it to be an MMO alternative to WoW, not realizing it was actually a glorified singleplayer JRPG with a side of MMO. When Peon became disappointed that the experience he was told about was not the experience he got, the cultists started sending him death threats.
Thanks for linking that so I could go downvote it and screw up the Youtube algorithm for him. He intentionally lied about multiple things about FF14 and went out of his way to bash the game with little to no receptiveness to feedback.
I honestly cannot put into words how little a lot of people care when people come into a Final Fantasy game and want to gut the story so they can rush to end game. If you cannot handle an RPG in your MMO and do not care about literally anything the boost is like $17 on the Mogstation. The biggest problem for most new players, including TheLazyPeon in his past attempt, is the 2.0 - 2.5 ARR slog. Past WoW friends I tried to introduce to the game couldn't get past how boring that was, and even when they get to Heavensward, they're already burnt out from all the cutscenes/dialogue. The regular ARR main story, while dull, goes by quickly, and your character is progressing throughout in levels, abilities, etc. Even WoW veterans can grind through it. But the 80 quests that are required post-ARR is the biggest roadblock, since there is zero progression, and you're literally just teleporting from location to location to get through dialogue/cutscenes. SE honestly did not trim enough fat here.
Those who argue it lays the foundation and is necessary for world-building really oversell it. Things like Good King Moogle Mog, Leviathan/Ramuh, the Ivy's subterfuge etc. could all have been on the chopping block (ie. moved to sidequests), without much loss to the primary narrative. They could easily just trim it down to the Monetarists subplot, the Doma refugees/Yugiri's arrival and Alphi establishing the Crystal Braves, and move right on to Lady Iceheart and Moenbryda's arrival. Hell, even the Monetarists, while critical for 2.55's conclusion, is basically a footnote for the rest of the game, so even that's scrapped in later expansions. Unlike later expansions where the post-HW, post-SB, and post-ShB quests continue the narrative from x.0 - x.3, and have their big moments...ARR's 2.0 - 2.3 is the definition of filler content.

This is insane. Noone does this with any other genre except MMO's where they tell the developer to gut their core starting experience so they can just rush to end game. WoW listened to you people and now they have a literal flood of people rushing to leave the game.
The servers are bursting at the seems so I think Square Enix knows better then people telling them to trash most of their story in a Final Fantasy game.
This the same LazyPeon that praised ArchAges animation locking of melee class and spamming fireballs in Archeage as ground breaking game design in an MMO?FFXIV fanboys kept telling him "FFXIV is the MMO alternative to WoW!" so he went in expecting it to be an MMO alternative to WoW, not realizing it was actually a glorified singleplayer JRPG with a side of MMO. Wonder how long it'll take the community to send him death threats this time around.
If I recall, didn't TheLazyPeon bash FF14 after level skipping to the endgame, end up sucking in a bunch of endgame content, and tried to say he was a good player? To which his followers all started bashing him to hell and back because he didn't give the game a fair shot, made himself look like a fool? Which resulted in the loss of a bunch of his followers?

To be fair, he didn't play the unintended way.
His first reactions were totally legit and fair. The GCBTW just got triggered because of his honest impressions.
If skipping story wasn't detrimental to the "real FFXIV experience" there wouldn't be an purchasable option for it now, would it? If it story was the main focus of the game, it would be weird for it to allow to skip it right? Guess what, story is not the main focus of FFXIV: Making money is.
And if a player doesn't get retained by the game because it feels bland and boring because he was allowed to skip the "good part" of it: Thats on the developers and publishers.
He did nothing wrong. He played as intended by the devs: He didn't liked it.
Now he is indeed jumping on the bandwagon and taking it's time, now he is liking it because he is playing at his pace. Thats on him now.
"The will of my friends has etched into my heart, and now ill transform this infinite darkness into eternal light
Unmatched in heaven and earth, one body and one soul that challenge the gods!"
I think the main reason for the scenario skip tomes are more for existing players who "complained" about having to go through all the content when they made alts - as far as I am aware they released the scenario skips before world visiting was possible so people were more inclined to have alts on different worlds on the same data centre.
