Marauder is okay, while warrior from 30-60 is not my favorite. The 60-70 quests are better, but they take a turn that may not be to everyone's taste.

Dark knight is probably the most popular, especially the 30-50 and the 80 quests. I also think they are quite good.

Gunbreaker isn't bad. It mostly serves as a way to provide backstory to the Hrothgar and Bozja.

Lancer was also pretty decent, though maybe nothing groundbreaking. I know people like the dragoon quests, but they never really got interesting to me until the 60-70 quests.

Pugilist is also decent, though the level 30-50 monk quests were kind of boring. I personally believe they got better from 50-70.

Samurai is pretty good from start to finish, but 50-60 is really good.

Rogue is great; same writer as the dark knight quests. Ninja quests from 30-70 aren't bad, but not outstanding. They aren't as great as the rogue quests, and kind the same story beats.

For some reason, I could not follow the archer and bard quests. I want to say the 50-70 bard quests aren't terrible, but I simply couldn't follow along.

Machinist is great. You spend a lot of time shooting people in the kneecaps.

Dancer was fine. Interesting, and has some good music, but I didn't stand out much to me.

Thaumaturge and black mage were fine up to 50, but 50-70 was kinda forgettable. Supporting characters were good, but the plots felt bland.

    Red mage is overall great.

Arcanist was pretty good. Summoner was boring IMO, but scholar is fantastic.

I liked the conjurer quests, though a lot don't. White mage gets a little better in the 50-60 and 60-70 quests, but the 30-50 is eh.

    Astrologian is also really good.
I cannot get into classes that at lvl 50 or over (too much skills at once , also it feels if i boosted a character). Summoner was my main but it got borring after a while. Now i am trying bard on differnt character but i find the store borring while gameplay could be interesting at later levels.

Gameplay for Bard can be interesting.

The Storyline pre-50 was written, as were all the base ARR jobs, with a bit less panache than later quests, writing against a deadline for a game that many thought was already dead, had something to do with it as well.

The reason Dark Knight and Machinist, for example, have what appear to be better storylines is that they had two years to put them together after the release of ARR. The storylines for jobs became much more straightforward in each subsequent expansion.

I wonder at times if the reasoning behind the Role quests in ShB (and, soon, in EW) is because it was really getting difficult to fit so many different storylines into each expansion and still keep them interesting. One can put way more effort into four storylines over a two year period than 18 of them.

You are correct, they said it was too many jobs to make storylines for, so they're settling for role quests telling new storylines, and level cap job quests and job quests for the new classes. Meaning Reaper and Sage will have level 70-80 job quests, and then a final one at 90 (while all previous jobs will only have the 90 quest).

My favorite stories in ARR are GSM and ALC. For combat Rogue is the best and Maruarder the worst IMHO.

If you do the beast tribes, the Ixal story rocks.

Makes sense, considering the 60-70 paladin quests are basically a gladiator story.

Level 80 too. You talk to Jenlyns long enough for him to say something is bothering Mylla and then it's off to the Gladiator's Guild for the rest of the Job Quest. The HW Job Quests for Paladin were so bad it effectively killed the entire Job's storyline and from here on out it's pure Gladiator. The game is so well known for it's story and characters, but then you look at Paladin and it's like, what the hell happened here? Just depressing to even think about it.

It didn't even make any sense whatsoever. It's like...wait, for an order of Paladins, you...what? Who wrote that drivel?

What's even worse is that the HW Paladin quests is you have a job that is called Knight in Japanese having no interaction with any of the Ishgardian knights, in an expansion centered on a city full of knights.

Guess I'm in the minority that I actually enjoyed gladiator and the Stormblood PLD storylines. I will agree the HW plot left very much to be desired. I'm hoping future PLD stories gets more "adventurey" and distance from the whole "Holy Knight for the Sultana". It feels like they wrote themselves in a corner with that. Like a mini Legend of Zelda vibe where you have to fight a dark wizard that just happens to be weak to light.

Pre Stormblood Samurai story was pretty good. Not as good as DRK, but it tugs at the feels a little bit.
