Petition: Remove EX Trials from Mentor Roulette

I've only had much luck with finishing Ultima Weapon, Garuda, Ravana, and Bismark in mostly sprout groups as being early extremes they get mostly cheesed by the bloated item levels.

Though even Garuda frequently ends up being a wash due to the tanks not seeming to grasp the basic instruction that the adds need to be tanked on opposite sides of the arena.

Is this another crafting mentor complaining about extreme content they never cleared themselves when it was relevant, like brute forced it and now complain having to do it sync'd?

I've had success many times with Ultima Ex, Ramuh Ex, Sophia Ex...to name a few usually going as tank or healer helps a bit since the carry can be real with either. If asmon can do it, so can you.

Asmongold's runs tend to be filled entirely with people who are way, way above the average skill level you're likely to encounter when getting shoved into extremes via mentor roulette...so not really a fair comparison.

It's easier to do a min ilvl extreme with people who actually know what they're doing vs. bloated ilvls with people who scarcely know how to play their jobs.

I generally only have success with the harder extremes if the run is mostly mentors and all of the tanks and healers are included.

Mentor roulette is there not only to help que, but also meant for Mentors to you know mentor people. Are some EX trials harder to teach people? Yes of course. Doesn't mean you shouldn't at least try. Many mentors leave because they don't want to try to teach people how to clear those fights. They also seem to be the ones that just want the easiest so they don't have to actually teach stuff for the mount.

Part of the reason there is a lower amount of people trying harder content is due to no one wanting to teach them. Even if they use the PF there not a whole lot of those willing to join and do these fights without doing them unsynced. Especially for farming them for mounts.

Here we go again.. 100% agree with you here.. have cleared a few EXs from Duty Finder myself including harder ones like Throdin.. even with a new off tank that didn't understand English and a mentor who refused to help.. so it's possible to get it done its just most mentors want the instant gratification of an easy clear and anything that dosnt meet that is hissed an booed at like a child being told to eat his greens..

I've since hidden my Trade Mentor crown as the current standing of mentorship is embarrassing.. im still working towards my combat crown but I'll probably keep that hidden too with the exception of mentor roulette which forces it on anyways I believe

Yeah it's completely possible, generally it's some lazy mentor that didn't get a freebie. There will be wipes, just like with asmon and many others just it comes down to hopefully they understand what caused it and how to change next pull.

I've had to do some creative things to clear sometimes but it works. I remember one tank just couldn't tank swap when i told them to, as i kept getting killed in Sophia. But they'd grab aggro after. Their tank swap was them falling off so I guess that evens out. Nonetheless good DPS is a good carry too. Then again you don't even need to mentor roulette to see sloppiness in this game. Had a Dal clear with just 1 minute left today.

We all know this needs to happen. Mentorship is not meant to carry people through content they have no business being in, it is meant to assist new players through the basics of the game, which EX trials aren't a part of. EX Trials, as defined by SE themselves, are high end content. They are the entry point to the hardest content in the game, and some are even more difficult than equivalent timed high end raids. As such they go well beyond what is the basics of the game, that Mentorship is meant for. As such they have no business being in Mentor Roulette, and removing them would help maintain Mentors staying for Mentor Roulette and see more of them doing it

If they get rid of that in mentor roulette it will make it more impossible for new players to do the ex primal runs.
Because no one would ever queue up for it anymore.

The only EX I couldn't clear with sprouts is Ramuh. Never passed the add phase.
I got it multiple times but the concept of debuff, stack with chaos and don't pile multiple aoe is difficult.

There's only 1 hour to the timer and a lot of tanks are ninja puller that expects the trial to go as smoothly as normal difficulty.
