It wasn't their first time, and they even had a crown. I was just going through the motions and all of a sudden because I threw a dot on mob as we were running along this tank gets indignant and starts hurling abuse at me.
As a tank, it's a huge non-issue. If a healer/DPS pulls for me, I just do a single AoE rotation and boom. Everything is on me and there's no problem (even better if they used Arm's Length. That Slow is a nice mitigation). My only Job in dungeons is to hold hate and cycle through CD's. "You pull, you tank" is a toxic MPK playstyle and shame on anyone who chooses to play this way.
I also want to add that if a player has done one level 50/60/70/80 dungeon, then they've done every single dungeon in the game. They can say they're new, but that only applies to boss fights. Trash mobs are never new.

I meant I'm not sure if intentionally pulling more for a tank because they aren't pulling enough for someone is griefing or not.As a tank, it's a huge non-issue. Responding to such a move by not taking is griefing no questions asked.
That's a rather different scenario than alluded to before. The tank wasn't right to sperg after the first time, but still should have voiced intent from the start. Either way I've derailed this thread long enough. Apologies OP.
Gamers don't die, we just go AFK

Last time I've checked, just typing "Pls pull more" was a nicer way to tell them that, but hey better hope not to land with someone new to the role (or to the game), right?
We're letting the DPS die for being foolish. If I'm the healer, I'm not healing you if you do it. If I'm the tank, I'm letting you die for it. If you wanted to control the flow of the dungeon, you should have come in on a tank.Maybe you'd have a point for ARR dungeons where there's usually a bunch of alternate paths that lead nowhere, but anything past that gets a raised eyebrow from me. Starting from Heavensward all the way to Shadowbringers, practically every dungeon is a straight line with no alternative paths in sight. So if the party isn't hot on this player's heels then where are they? Standing at the entrance with their thumbs plugged firmly up their rears?
Unless it leads to a wipe (due to tank and/or healer genuinely being unable to keep up), I wouldn't see it as griefing.
And this right here is a toxic attitude that can be reported. Tanks DO NOT control the flow of the dungeon. The party overall does. DPS control how long you're in the dungeon (if they're good/fantastic, less time in dungeon. If they're bad/terrible... well, you know), tanks control the mobs around them and healers keep people alive (and DPS to assist in dungeon length). It's silly to say only the tank controls the flow.

"You pull it you tank it" has to be about the most smoothbrain take I've ever had the displeasure of hearing and I genuinely despise anyone that subscribes to that mentality.
I think this is funny, not because I disagree but because I've been that healer before lol. Took me till I played Albion Online to learn to dps while everyone's HP was full or close to full. It's just a learning curve, and it kindof is annoying to be standing around for long periods doing nothing until somebody's HP drops at least it was for me.In terms of actual dungeon design, I really wish they had more....variety in trash mobs. It's exceedingly rare to get dungeons with enemies that do things other then the basic telegraphed AoEs. Even small concerns like the bees in Qarn/Saint Moccaine's and the bombs in Amaurot that give some sense of urgency in killing particular enemies spice things up a bit.
As far as players go, healers who don't DPS bug me more then anything else. If the tank is only losing 10% of their HP per auto-attack cycle, there's virtually no risk to them actually dying as long as they have a regen rolling but a lot of healers seem to get anxiety if they see even the smallest amount of HP missing from anyone.
