Can we please get more cool looking outfits for male characters?

Just look at this expansion alone. 2b coffer? Pure feminine outfit with no male alternative. Exarchic healing set? Eden healing sets? dungeon healing sets etc etc. Majority are feminine and barely altered for men. Recent hairstyles? Either androgynous or feminine.Males have gotten no attention in the beard department. The one thing people could’ve gotten who wanted more masculine things was for male viera to have a varied height slider and to have at least a masculine face….nope. Not given. Instead they’re insanely feminine. Even miqote have a masculine face available for those who want it. They can’t even give the stubble. It’s taken until now for them to even address it.

To be fair, we've also gotten some nice, rather masculine gear (Warg, Eden's promise, Late Allagan, and Paglthan come to mind). My only problem is that said masculine gear also tends to falls into the "traditionally masculine" roles, namely tanks and melees, while casters and specially healers get, you guessed it - more white, frilly, overlydecorated, androgynous/female oriented, dresses, with only some few exceptions

To be honest. I'm half tempted to tell you no out of spite. I certainly would love to have better facial hairs and eyebrows on Highlanders, but like...They're clearly catering to a specific set of demographics with this game and this just isnt it.

More and better choices for masculine characters would be nice if it's possible. Genderlock should stay if it's better for creating specific outfits for eatch gender (and i bet if male get bunny outfits made for the male body that females don't have some players will complain again). Unisex outfits shouldn't have to many feminine or masculine things things either.
Ppl say that tank armore are masculine, but how a genderless armor would look like ?? Just adding feminine stuff on top doesn't work imo.

I think just having a form-fiting armor that follow the shape of the body (instead of always bulky no matter the body type) should be sufficient.

there is a serious lack of masculine gear from what i've seen (granted im pretty new). way too many armor choices look like dresses. no thanks.

i want large bulky armor. like what righty Raubahn has on his left shoulder.

Do yourself a favor and keep an eye out for the Odin fate in Gridania. You'll be able to tell that he's out and about when the weather changes to Tension, makes the forest look super ominous. Do the fate a couple of times and you'll be able to get his helmet, armor and sword.

I'm a bit confused by this. Let's say for sake of argument they are catering to a specific demographic, where does the spite come into it then...? Game demographics can change. They have adapted what they put out in response to perceived changes. The game is getting an influx of players from a game with a stronger bent towards male than female characters. It'll be interesting to see how they handle that.

To say nothing of the fact that the game actively promotes the Warrior of Darkness as looking fairly masculine in teasers and trailers as far back as Stormblood, so clearly their marketing team at the very least knows that such is a good way to lure people into checking out the game.

It's not even as if people are asking for hypermasculinity so much as more good looking customisation options for male characters. People who play male characters are a pretty large portion of the game's population - especially on European servers.

Anyway this means I make a lot of male characters and my WoL is usually male. I have definitely noticed that in terms of the glamour game most sets just look better on female characters.

Also if I could make a male highlander who resembled Gladio I would do it and never look back.

Yeah it works and looks more practical, decorative armor is cool but we get a lot of it.
