It also wasn't too long ago that a writer hired by the company in question was caught on Twitter being extremely bigoted towards white people and men. I vowed never to bother with another Blizzard product after such comments came to light.

Roux? At most shes just an independent contractor.
There's supposedly at least four different authors hired by the company who have been caught making similar statements, though that's definitely the most glaring example of the lot. When the issue was raised, however, no official statements were put out by the company to criticise such an attitude.
Somehow I suspect it would have been handled very differently if the abuse in question was being hurled in a different direction. It's very unfortunate that in many places, it is seen as acceptable to direct discriminatory abuse at what are considered to be 'safe' targets'.
I can't link evidence here for obvious reasons, but as an aside the problem also supposedly trickles down to some other employees who design quests and the like. It's one of many reasons why I stopped supporting Blizzard in any form.
Luckily FFXIV does not appear to have the same problem with its employees, though I do hope care is taken when interacting with the portion of the FFXIV community that is located on Twitter as some of the statements made by certain content creators are similarly jarring and discriminatory.

Sounds like a very woke culture company, which is actually pretty common. Gender abuse, mistreatment, sexual harassment, even rape, happen within a co-operate and nobody ever found out because everyone keeping their lips shut.
Edit: I just watched The Morning Show. Same story. Great acting though both Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon.
Agree. I read about Madeleine Roux lately and you are right, it is funny how reverse discrimination is accepted by Blizz. If she were targetting other colors and minorities in her tirade she would be all over the news etc. Sad state of racial harmony in corporate America at the moment. There's supposedly at least four different authors hired by the company who have been caught making similar statements, though that's definitely the most glaring example of the lot.
