This is the same company who bans people for sexism in their games, and signal all the politically correct virtues.
Wake up people, these companies give 0 shits.
Probably but I think with the current flux of events with this news, the poor treatment of WoW playerbase, Diablo being a total joke and previous infractions public opinion will not bode well for Blizzard as a whole.
I hope retribution at some point visits this clown company.
Ubisoft, Riot Games, Twitch, Method (WoW Guild), Chris Avellone...
I think this more than just a Blizzard issue...
It also wasn't too long ago that a writer hired by the company in question was caught on Twitter being extremely bigoted towards white people and men. I vowed never to bother with another Blizzard product after such comments came to light.
Roux? At most shes just an independent contractor.
its sad to see this in a company that was responsible for many years of my gaming existence.
I mean, its a shock, but... these days.. hardly a surprise any more. this kind of damage to a huge company will likely not sink it, but the PR damage in this day and age, will diminish them greatly.

― Will Rogers
There's supposedly at least four different authors hired by the company who have been caught making similar statements, though that's definitely the most glaring example of the lot. When the issue was raised, however, no official statements were put out by the company to criticise such an attitude.
Somehow I suspect it would have been handled very differently if the abuse in question was being hurled in a different direction. It's very unfortunate that in many places, it is seen as acceptable to direct discriminatory abuse at what are considered to be 'safe' targets'.
I can't link evidence here for obvious reasons, but as an aside the problem also supposedly trickles down to some other employees who design quests and the like. It's one of many reasons why I stopped supporting Blizzard in any form.
Luckily FFXIV does not appear to have the same problem with its employees, though I do hope care is taken when interacting with the portion of the FFXIV community that is located on Twitter as some of the statements made by certain content creators are similarly jarring and discriminatory.
