What I am interested by is the large amount of veterans just walking away in the last year out of nowhere. That would explain why Alex "Foror" Afrasiabi left Blizzard so quietly last year. Usually there are some "Goodbye"-Threads in the forums when someone in his position leaves Blizzard. But there was literally nothing. Some people noted it in his Linkedin-profile, that he was no longer a Blizzard employee.
Cheers
That's messed up. I usually find the whole rallying for boycotts against companies a bit over the top, but in this case it's completely justified. They've had a track record of scandals, shady practices and bad PR and this time they've gone over the line.
I honestly hope people do boycott. Large companies get away with far too much, but this is real, happening to real people who suffer because of it. There is no reason to willingly support a company that treats human beings like that, even if you love WoW we're at a time where not only is ff14 doing great but multiple other new MMO's have sprung up. It's a good chance to move on to something better.
Why is it, that companies that pander to woke stuff, have some of the worse skeletons under the bed?
It is just charges, and I will give them the presumption of innocence. I have to wonder...if it is true what has changed with this company? My friend had to quit working at Blizzard back during MOP because of housing and bill problems. He loved working for them at the time, but when his room mates moved out, and he had trouble finding people to help him with the cost. He had to quit and move back to his family place. So I lost the friend and family testing rights I had with him. Now I want to get in contact with him to find out what he thinks.
*sighs* This is just annoying all around. Watching something I cared about for many years of my life wreck itself like this. I mean I understand people cheering for it because Blizzard acted like snobs, and it feels good to say I told you so to them. But I can't help but feel sad about this.
And this influx of people joining comes at the worse time for this game because of chip shortage.
Yeah it is true that it is just charges, but its not like it is from a third world country or anything...Why is it, that companies that pander to woke stuff, have some of the worse skeletons under the bed?

I am fairly sure that the State of California would not risk going to court and be liable from damages and all, if this were not true ....
Blizzard have two options here.. Either push ahead and better win that case (go all-in), or cut up their losses. Reform the company, talk with the community, put all effort into Diablo franchises (at this point its the only franchise that has any hope or recapturing hype), make WOW f2p with microtransactions and charging patches, get away with the whole stupid gating and stuff, and try somehow to stay afloat.
I am really worried about Blizzard's other IPs and people like Tasteless and Artosis who live from Blizzard games ... (not because i think they wont have the money or anything, but i love watching GSL)
For the same reason that is always seems that the most outspoken homophobic ministers and politicians are the ones getting caught trying to solicit men in public bathroom stalls. I really recommend the read that was linked above from the WoW forums from the lawyer. Even if he isnt actually, it puts the Blizzard response in a very interesting light and the one thing that it always seems to end with is... Projection.
huh? you mean the guy that's suing the people accusing him and the one that actually has receipts to back his side of the story up, unlike them? having never even met one of them and the whole thing being over his lack of interest in the relationship with one of the accusers?
it's on his medium, if you want to read more about it

Ya the more I look into it. The worse it is. I F man I hate this. Like, this is a punch to the gut. Last I heard, even the developers who got paid pretty well was having trouble with housing and just trying to live a decent life in a overly cost area.
Many of these men and women work long hours, and living a dream working for a company like Blizzard. For it to end up like this..
And I did not even think about Diablo 4 and what the future holds now that this is leaked.

Welp... that is just heartbreaking in all honestly, horrible discovery and very sad events that came to light.
I do remember posting something about the start of Acti/Blizzard's fall will all start with a nasty level battle. Hopefully their fans are not included in the mix, and those responsible take claim to their actions without issues. As well the innocent remain clear from jealous eyes and fingers that seek to bring as many down with them as possible.
Interesting enough, I don't think this will get swept under the rug, nor will it die away silently. I feel those pushing for this want to make an example of those involved, be it from the past, to the current. This is not going to be a side show. This is basically the preliminary event, the taste of foreshadowing to what will eventually come within the next remainder of the half decade (aka by 2025) this will only seem like the tip of the iceberg.
I do feel for the dedicated fans that are forced to witness this and only left with speculation and assumptions on what is.going to happen to the games they enjoy and the company they dedicated a large chunk of their livelihood for.
in all honesty... not much will change.
will people leave? of course
but the unfortunate reality is... mmo's are a drug, and WoW has dedicated addicts, as does FFXIV, but already their forums are full of deniers, and the typical "lesson here is dont hire women" which one expects one their forums. I dont foresee a huge hit to their population. the people really leaving are fed up with the game, this just provides an extra reason to leave maybe a bit sooner than they would have. some will return, some will bounce in and out less frequently, but it is hard to just set aside that much time and emotional investment. I know, I have been there
if little else, this just reaffirms why I parted ways with them. sad to see failure at this level, but then, I am no longer invested there. I do hope they change, and survive, but really, deep down, I can honestly say, I dont care that much either way. as people say, they made their bed....
Enormous company-wide meetings at both headquarters this morning.
Though for entirely different reasons. One discussing clean-up, another preparation.
