Doth thou remember thine thread about helping players learn how to play better? I saw you posted in there, well those players. The same ones who defend doing the bare minimum because you clicked duty finder so you disserve having the time wasted then getting kicked so you can waste more time in queue. Our fault for not "forming a social network" I suppose. Sounds like premade became most salty you asked them to push buttons, I would report for kick abuse then do as JP does. Name on a spreadsheet on a google doc.

Well, both players werent new. One of them got a pretty high rank in their FC.

I would be glad, if I had a chance to help other players. But those 2 people just wanted to waste the time of other people. So yes, those 2 players are definitely those "really bad players" I was talking about in the other thread. There is no valid reason to get salty. I was just asking if everything is ok. I didnt even expect them to press 4 buttons. But yes, both got reported for being afk and abusing vote-kick.

Also yup! There sure is. I keep one with a detailed reason for why each player is on it as do family and extended family, my partner included. If this were JP it would be semi public but this is not JP. When and if I recruit for party finder the list is consulted. If they are on the list it is immediate rejection from party, thankfully I have not had to do this and neither have friends. One can dream that NA or EU might learn from the JP community but alas, I have given up hope.

It miiiight exist there I say with great implication that it does and most of the NA/EU community would not last one month on JP datacenters.

Many many differences between their duty finder and the NA one I find myself in now (ping issues).

JP party finder is for practice and duty finder is used to clear content most of the time, though party finder is still used for various things.

JP groups greet and farewell with greater consistency (usually or well, attempt to), though dungeon banter is uncommon.

JP groups treat failure and success of the team in different way then NA/EU and are far more efficiency focused. It is unproductive to lash out at the group but that does not mean I am displeased is common way of thinking, I suppose.

Because JP is more consistency focused they favor safer play styles that deliver constant results with the fewest number of wipes even in normal content. You queued into the duty with the objective of working with the team towards the same goal and you are obligated to do this, it is frowned upon to "sandbag" as seems to be common in NA/EU groups.

In short or umm, tl;dr - You are much less likely to have a reason to post here because JP values getting things done but that does not mean you would never run into someone who might make you wish to. NA/EU could learn much from the way JP treats duty finder, for the better.

I had a group yesterday in the Burn. It was very obvious that the summoner was extremely bad at her class - pulls and bosses were taking as much as 1/2 more time than they normally do (I'd been running the dungeon a lot for a glamour I wanted, so I knew very well what was normal and what wasn't). The mist dragon at the end of the dungeon has a minor DPS check about 40 seconds into the fight where you need to kill 3 heads. I say minor, because it isn't that big a deal - the fight is generally more about people failing to dodge AOEs and suffering an aggregate stacking DOT.

So anyway, we get to the head phase and I work down one head, work down the second, turn around and... the third head is completely undamaged. Apparently not only was she focusing the heads I was on, but her damage was so insignificant that I didn't even notice a difference from normal soloing one/duoing the second with the tank. We all eat the cold AOE and wipe because the healer can't keep up.

We ran back, and on the way I was like 'okay, we need to make sure we are doing damage to all the heads and not just two,' without directly saying that, yes, you the summoner are actually at fault because you can't play your class. Second attempt, I swat the first head, kill the second, turn around and discover that she's done about 1/8th the third head's total damage, despite focusing on it for the entire burn period. I race over there on my sam, but we can't kill it in time. We eat the full AOE again and wipe.

I left. There was just no point. What am I going to do - teach her how to play her class? This isn't a case of failing at mechanics - it's failing, at a fundamental level, on knowing how to click fast enough and in the proper order to do moderately capable damage. We weren't going to win no matter what.

You don't want the NA community to have a list like that. People would get put on the list for just doing one mechanic wrong on accident after a long farm, or for something extremely petty. It works in Japan becuase Japan's culture.

We are currently sitting on top of content plateau, waiting for EW release. It is no wonder that some portion of playerbase who had already cleared what they wanted to do would be hibernating or so. I expect more of these funny runs myself (but eh nothing too surprising, it’s DF after all). EDIT: But of course we're still more likely to get the average to above averages runs than the terrible ones.

Like this run from yesterday, Lv80 Roulette: Akadaemia Anyder. Rolled as an AST, gets paired with a returner DRK & double regular BLM. First BLM is using their full artifact gear, save for accessories with a mix of leveling dungeon & cryptlurker accessories. The 2nd BLM is in full augmented exarchic.

Tank stated that they’ve been out of practice & only returned after half a year of hiatus but they still want to try wall pulling and remembering the feel. They politely asked and my answer was: “Pull as much as you want & can.” because why not? I love enthusiastic player like them.

Mobs were dying slowly so out of curiosity I started to watch both DPSes. No Flares from 2nd BLM, they were flinging Fire II like they’re playing a THM. Thunder DoT? I only saw one being stacked to the mobs, assume that’s from the 1st BLM cause I’ve not seen any Thunder casts coming from the 2nd BLM.

Boss encounters also made the disparity between the DPSes performance even more glaring. I’m running out of fingers to count how many times I’ve heard the sound effect of Enochian being casted. Who knows from which BLM it came from but one who played the class for quite a while would’ve recognized the smoking fireplace. 2nd BLM would cast several Fire IV whenever I heard the Enochian sound effect being played but would soon go back to Fire I. Thunder III? It’s like that one spell does not exist in their hotbar. Blizzard III being casted 2-3 times in a row. Enmity order list also shows they’re consistently sitting on 4th place. Well duh, guess who’s not getting cards for entire run beyond first pull. 2nd ranged card drawn after being played for the 1st BLM? I save it for the first BLM when their cards runs out or I ate it myself First BLM asks "No Fire IV?" but of course met with a deafening response that is a silence.

I am just learning Black Mage and have managed to reach 60 but I did poke through all my skills and other stuffs to attempt to figure out the rotations.

Let us see soooo level 80. Wait. Wait wait oh that hurts. Cycling Enochian means they were dropping Umbral Fire/Ice. That means no Umbral hearts.. no foul.. no despair.. no Xenoglossy because no polyglot stacks. Also it means losing the 15% extra damage from Enochian! No Flare so no tripple cast Flare either. I do not even have that unlocked yet and am already super fricken excited to use that on large pulls if I can.

I am going to assume here that they may have taken a break most lengthy from Black Mage but many thanks for the story it brought equal pain and amusement! It also reminded me of how tight the timings can be on Black Mage for not dropping Umbral phase especially if you oopsie too many Fire IV casts. Hmm.. I have two seconds left in Umbral fire please do not finish that raidwide yet let this Fire 1 cast finish. *interrupted* Maaahh!

I feel like Brayflox's Longstop (normal) is a magnet for upsetting tank stories. It's always been the case for me, and I'm not the only one I've heard weird stuff from.

Healing the broken gear tank is still my worst one thus far, but lately I've gotten a handful of tanks who just ignore the text on the last boss telling them Hey if the dragon stands in the poison its HP will regen. Had one tank ignore me saying to pull it out in chat. And ignored me running to the other side of the room. And hopping up and down. And standing there. And then eventually giving up and hitting it from the very small space I could access it, without being able to get my positional. Good thing it goes down very easily now, I suppose.

It's just amazing how the bar has been set on the floor and people still manage to trip on it constantly. It doesn't matter how much the devs simplify things, people who don't pay attention aren't gonna suddenly perform well.

Another tank who made the same mistake corrected themselves when they noticed my message and I actually sighed in relief. Got 3 comms, too, which I... was not expecting, as NIN, but sure thank you I will take that.

By the way guys, have you heard the rumour that in content with more than 1 tank, the other tank(s) can turn off stance and become "off tank", or leave the boss and instead pick up adds? Sounds fake to me.
