It's funny how there are two camps of Summoner players: those who want to double down on egis to the point that they are a larger focus, and the players like me that want them to be minimized or removed altogether.

Im in between. I wouldnt mind it, but however is how they are going to go about adding them. We can have a plethora of summons however, are we going to choose which ones we can use in a instance or they just going to be new trances. With summons it could lead into a lot of "bloat" is they do incorrectly

for a year, would you rather be secretly filmed at random moments and have the footage uploaded to your social media or loose $100 when ever you said a curse word?
If you want your feedback acknowledged by anyone important it needs to be understandable in Japanese.
As fun as it sometimes is, we're basically all just shouting into the void over here.
Yeah I prefer they add more skills to egis than them just removing them in favor of what old school SMN fanboys keep mentioning. What exactly are we doing in our downtime while trying to summon a random primal nugget? A 123 combo until a bar fills and then we hit a button, they do their thing and then leave? Sounds boring and like another version of BLM to me. At least now we can interact with our summons and make them help fight.
Maybe you could work on getting SMN to 80 before burning it to the ground
I'm currently happy with Egi's right now though I would make some minor changes to Egi Assault like giving Ifrit a dash. I'm okay with the "lag" considering it's less than 2s for me which is honestly equal to casting a spell but I can move.

edit: Nope, I was wrong, and the quoted poster is correct.
It's more clear in the YouTube trailer rather than the looping Imgur gif, but the Egi is still there after Crimson Cyclone. The next shot afterwards shows it much more clearly. If you pause right after the Crimson Cyclone fades, and step through the frames after the camera changes, you can see Ifrit-Egi hanging out next to the Paladin on the left.
...sigh.
Welcome to another 2 years of Egis, I guess. /thumbsup

Im disappointed ffxi Summoner gets a cait Sith summon and ffxiv summoners don't, they are so cute
Why can't ffxiv smn get a cait sith summon too!?
Well considering the fact that we saw the smn do a fire dash and not see the smn command the egi once nor have the actions trailer yet I say it's a bit early to do that. They might go more the invoker route and make the egis just there to auto attack and turn into baha and Phoenixedit: Nope, I was wrong, and the quoted poster is correct.

Is that why Reaper is gonna be another pet class?
That being said, I'd like to see Summoner have more focus on actually summoning though instead of being an FF version of WoW's Warlock. Summoning is the first thing that comes to mind when I think of Final Fantasy and to have us be a dot class feels kind of lame.
I'd like more than just five summons. Let me also summon Odin and Alexander, Shiva and Ramuh. Let me summon a Malboro to use bio instead of just casting Bio.
Make Summoner... an actual summoner!
