I was there as well.
That wasn't WoW players, that was /pol/ on 4chan coopting the Egyptian God of Darkness, Kek, as said god is depicted as a frog. Since Pepe the frog is/was so big it was declared a sort of meme magic/divine providence and they turned it into Kekistan.

Kek used on the internet far predates and overshadow's /pol/'s coop, if you see someone using it they're far more likely to be using it as a stand-in for lol than to dog whistle being alt-right.

I stand corrected. In my defense the WoW edgelords ran with the kekistan shit hard. Obviously im not saying all WoW players are associated with alt right but there is a significant overlap which makes sense considering the amount of edgy boy spouting biggoted slurs I see on the daily back when I used to play that game and the fact they are so similar WoW edgelords ran with it hard.

Most of what I said still stands however since my point is that there is not nothing there. Especially as I have seen kek used in that way in game before.

Wait, so you think because you tell someone they are wrong or an idiot means that it will magically change their view of a certain group? Yeah, I do not think that is how people work, if it did we would not have most the problems or debates we have.

Also yeah they can, because sadly being as hate is an emotion, which is inherently bias around a personal belief if someone believes something to be true they will believe it. That is the reality, unless you want to discredit all ideas and beliefs that go against your own. Which I do not think that is the case, so yeah I still stand by what I said any group can be a hate group just depends on who you ask.

Let us be real facts and logic do not matter in most of these issues, people are based around their own emotional bias.
