Or maybe splc members used to play WoW. I was there when WoW players turned KeK into Kekistan and went full alt-right. Lets not pretend there isnt an association because thats disingenious. Are all players who say kek nazis? No, but neither are all depictions of swastikas always nazis as well.

That wasn't WoW players, that was /pol/ on 4chan coopting the Egyptian God of Darkness, Kek, as said god is depicted as a frog. Since Pepe the frog is/was so big it was declared a sort of meme magic/divine providence and they turned it into Kekistan.

Kek used on the internet far predates and overshadow's /pol/'s coop, if you see someone using it they're far more likely to be using it as a stand-in for lol than to dog whistle being alt-right.
