People are too sensitive about pronouns. They are just there to fulfill a grammatical function, not to make people feel offended or out of place.

Agreed, and even in the associated press stylebook, name should be used before pronouns when possible, but singular they can be used if person is unknown/non-binary kind of thing.

Since this game has all names public except some parts of PvP, it's easy to avoid.

I hear all this talk about toxicity from WoW players in this game but so far the only bits of evidence of toxicity are coming from FF14 players. Im from Midgardsomr so I'll report it if I see it. Oh and to that one guy who thinks lgbtq ppl base their entire identity on their sexual orientation(not the guy I quoted) well we wouldnt have to do that if ppl werent toxic about it. Its a matter of survival. Getting death threats from co-workers after coming out the closet kind of makes me this way just to name a personal example. I was there as well.
That wasn't WoW players, that was /pol/ on 4chan coopting the Egyptian God of Darkness, Kek, as said god is depicted as a frog. Since Pepe the frog is/was so big it was declared a sort of meme magic/divine providence and they turned it into Kekistan.

Kek used on the internet far predates and overshadow's /pol/'s coop, if you see someone using it they're far more likely to be using it as a stand-in for lol than to dog whistle being alt-right.
