Well screenshots can be faked and don't underestimate the amount of people who hate him for no real reason.
It doesn't sound like something he'd do at all, I mean maybe if we're talking about '' Xe, Xem, Ve, Ver, Xyr '' etc I could maybe see it but not just like trans people or '' they '' etc.
I honestly think that the former is sorta ridiculous too and turns it into a bit of a joke.

If you've ever watched one of his more serious videos on his other channel you'll know that he's usually very level-headed and isn't a hateful person at all.
And he does call out his own community for going after people for being women, trans or their appearance etc.
Even with that deer girl on the Twitch council he did this and went to pretty great lengths to make it clear that his criticism had nothing to do with that persona and that people shouldn't mock her.

Even if someone uses neo-pronouns, there's no reason to harass someone over any pronouns. It's transphobia, plain and simple. If someone thinks its weird, it's not hurting them, so like, they should do as most people should and keep scrolling.
Edit: On re-reading, I understand what you meant. Rather than seeing a case to mock neopronouns, that instead you believe he might have done that before but hasn't towards more common trans terms. My bad for misunderstanding!

As for the faking of screenshots, I understand, but prominent and caring members of the community have pointed out poor behavior on Asmon's part, which I'm more inclined to believe. Trust me, at least, I'm not just seeing a rando on the internet post whatever and just regurgitating it.

Did he say '' that's stupid '' or did he actually harass someone?
Because I think there is a difference.
You can argue that it's irresponsible if you want and I'd probably agree that if you have a large following then you should be careful with that but at the same time you can't expect people with tens to hundreds of thousands of eyes on them almost all day every day to not make mistakes.
No one is that flawless, I mean to put things into perspective just recently one of the biggest Socialist Twitch Streamers blurted out the N-word live on Stream.

It's not Transphobia either, I've never seen him misgender someone who's actually Trans and I'd be *extremely* surprised if I saw that.
Tbh I think that even within LGBTQ communities most people probably think that the hundreds of pronouns are dumb, like at some point it becomes incredibly performative.
That doesn't mean that you hate Trans people or don't acknowledge them or things like non-binary people etc.

To be clear I am not saying it's good, I don't mock people for it I kinda just shrug it off.
But at some point I do think that it becomes dumb and I think that most people would agree even if they're part of the LGBTQ community.
And I also think that if he had someone on Stream that had one of those pronouns he would respect it and he'd tell his community to back off, I am pretty confident about that.

For clarification, I stated "directed harassment", which is a tool that someone with his following can do. He's allowed to have opinions about things, but someone with as large of a following as his saying "people with pronouns in bios are clowns that you should avoid" does nothing but embolden the hateful in his following. The tweet is still up, and was made 3 years ago, so it could be arguable that he has learned and knows better; however, from just a quick search on twitter for the sake of a quick reply, I couldn't find any such tweet as such. People can make mistakes or not know things, but the important thing is to learn and improve, to actually take the steps. I'd also say with the size of a following someone like him has, people like that should very visibly and publically make improvements. Searching "pronouns" from asmon shows no such thing, even if he's had it buried in a stream somewhere.

It's still transphobia, but I believe the term is moreso microagression. As someone in multiple LGBTQ communities, the general consensus is that "people are free to be who they want and fighting with eachother when we have more important things to handle in regards to our status in society achieves nothing". It's like how transphobic tendencies in the Olympics recently led to the ban of some cis women for how their bodies are.

Edit: Yeah, no, I don't think you condone stuff. Apologies if this feels targeted! I'm just trying to do my best to help people get a cool head on their shoulders and understand things from a broader perspective, definitely not here trying to throw accusatory fingers.

Asmon - "If you reread my response to you, I didn't say it was a political statement. Usually I refer to people as they or the gender they're presenting, so I've never really had that problem before (and I haven't had any complaints either)"

Asmon is socially awkward as hell from I can tell (I don't regularly watch his streams but I have looked at him recently). He also doesn't intentionally misgender though from what I can tell. Was a mistake by him to make that comment though he probably won't admit it.

The part you clipped isn't even in reference to anything actually said, but I understand that you must be very angry. Despite already curating you out of my space, I'm going to take this post with a grain of salt and say: This is an understandable response. However, pronouns in bio are a way for people to present their gender. I'm non-binary but appear male; however, my pronouns are not he/him. He'd get it right by defaulting to they, but that's a coincidence, and not the right approach. It was a mistake for him to make that comment and I would hope that he would be able to admit that he made a mistake rather than avoid the situation altogether. It doesn't paint a good picture of him to do so.

It was part of the conversation you were referreing to. I linked the whole conversation where someone with pronouns in her bio then challenged his position.

They is the correct non-gender singular pronoun. It's starting to be recognised by style manuals as the correct way to default but yes he was also wrong to say what he did. He won't admit it though I'm guessing.

and yet if you don't support the right brand of the movement you'll be declared as bigot, transphobe, harassed and whatnot because you, for example, don't agree with the aforementioned neo-pronouns, otherkin or other things that ever so slightly deviate from the hivemind
not like a political discussion has any place here, but the hypocrisy and double standards in the (various) lgbt movements are insane at times

I think part of the problem is that you're either running into children who've yet to learn full maturity but are being accelerated in so much aggressive behaviors that are rampant across all of society right now (where everything is politics and everyone has to fight instead of having conversations; ie, my gender isn't politics, my gender is me, but for some reason that upsets some religious fanatics who have control of the country I live in), or you're running into people trying to invent someone for you to get mad at. Quite possible that it happened with today's situation as well! But who knows.
I think as well, that you're calling it a hivemind, says that you never had a very high opinion of LGBT stuff to begin with, but I'd like to give you the benefit of the doubt. All that you really should be aware of is that people have been gaslit for many decades, if not centuries, and people are getting tired. It's the same as how we're told we can't do anything about climate change as the world is falling apart around us. But someone could just say "No it isn't" and so on.

Just be, more accepting of others, more understanding, and try to work together and understand. Don't get discouraged.

you're right, I don't have a particularly high opinion of the LGBT movement - or rather, very vocal people in it, having had plenty of bad experiences with those very vocal people who used it to abuse, groom and gaslight other people and avoid responsibility of their behaviour by hiding behind being semi-famous figures in said communities and criticising them meant you'd get banned for homophobia or other things, or just straight up having a pocket mod or mod powers for no reason and thus they could flaunt said power around to silence anyone that disagreed
I also don't like the oversexualisation of pride events in my country, that children are in direct contact with hard kink/fetish content there and that that's perfectly okay - because I think it's not
I'm gay myself, but those things are what keep me from being a vocal supporter of the lgbt movement

there's also the commercialisation of pride stuff/month, which I find downright disgusting, especially because 99% of those companies did nothing for lgbt rights before or actively were against equalisation before - but now they're all totally pro-lgbt and they're totally not after your money - and how so many people eat this capitalistic shit up while they hate on those very same companies (and half the time capitalism) in the 11 other months of the year
maybe hivemind was the wrong word, but you yourself explained it better than I ever could in the beginning of your quote - young people, be it kids or young adults still searching for themselves, are being taught that being overly aggressive to anyone with a differing opinion is how a normal discourse works and that cancelling someone for something they said years, if not decades ago, is also a completely normal and valid thing
that's how you get teens calling an 18 (eighTEEN) year old a pedo and trying to cancel them because they responded to them under their own tweet

post got longer than I wanted it to be, but eh
