Yup some bad apples do it to him so this is the whole community and the best of them at that. Down with them allPeople are being very rude to him and disrupting his gameplay experience with memes and toxicity - following him around and spamming their bright skills for example such as holy. I guess this is the best of what the FF community has to offer to a sprout rather than being welcoming and letting him mind his own and enjoy the game in the same was as all of us were allowed to. please, be respectful. don't chase people away that could potentially bring in more players.

ARR = Bad, naive devs thought not that many people would play.
HW = Ok. Some issues arround but overall much better.
SB = WTF who did design the scenario, how do you even. Wat.
ShB = Ok! Finally...?
We have yet to see.
"The will of my friends has etched into my heart, and now ill transform this infinite darkness into eternal light
Unmatched in heaven and earth, one body and one soul that challenge the gods!"
Do you know what stream snipe is? All he has to do is say "Alright I'mma queue up for Ivalice raid part 3" and everyone who is watching his stream queues up. A few get inside the same instance as him, and by comparing what's happening with his stream they figure out who he is and his name is out in the wild. How does one grief a player in a raid instance unless you're in the same party/Alliance? No one can send him tells, spam him with friend requests, etc. when he is in an instanced duty.
His name doesn't have to be visible at all. initials are an option. World can be hidden via Character Customization HUD options.
Also you shouldn't have to gut your entire UI just because a few people don't like him because he likes a different game.
I doubt that would happen. SE is not dumb and they know it's not his fault and can verify that it was a group of people trying to sabotage him. SE knows that a famous streamer like Asmongold joining FFXIV over WoW will only result in positive things for the game.
If they are that dumb and that ends up happening though I can see thousands of people cancelling their subs in protest for the unfair treatment.
Yes, the best way is acting like a great community, not just saying it.

They aren't chasing him away, this kind of thing happens to any vaguely popular streamer or player trying an MMO.following him around and spamming their bright skills for example such as holy. I guess this is the best of what the FF community has to offer to a sprout rather than being welcoming and letting him mind his own and enjoy the game in the same was as all of us were allowed to. please, be respectful. don't chase people away that could potentially bring in more players.
Its either for attention to get 10 seconds of fame to be on the persons video/stream, or because they are that excited to see the person that they overdue it with the welcome party.
He will be fine, lets not baby the guy, he's tougher then he might look.
Plus most games have tools to Mute some things that could be disruptive like all the effects.
You act like none of this happens in other MMOs. It does, often, and he DOES have ways to avoid it. Like streaming right when the instance is fully queued up. Meaning he starts the stream right when he enters the raid. Can't snipe if the instance is already entered.Do you know what stream snipe is? Anyone that's inside the instance with him can just turn on the stream and figure it out. Specially someone so famous as Asmongold who has 2.1 million followers is more than likely to get queued up with people who follow him.
And there is no way around stream sniping Eureka/Bozja/Zadnor.
Are people genuinely surprised that this is happening? Just look at the comments by our great community in these asmongold threads. Also i have a genuine question. Seeing that a lot of these griefers are max level and have savage raid mounts etc. Does it really matter if they’re fans of his or what have you? If they’ve spent this much time in game they are a part of this community as well whether we like it or not. I highly doubt though that a majority of them are his fans. Again like i said there were warning signs in these threads. I just hope this all results in a lot of the more sensitive folk of the community getting banned for their actions.

I'm more surprised people are looking at this and going "Yes, the entire FFXIV community is like this"
I shouldn't be, seeing as I'm from Balmung, but...

I love how people are Whining for Asmongold.
The guy is doing just fine, people got their 1 hour of fame, and he got a giant welcome into the game.
The worse of it died out pretty quick, and he at least sounds like he is enjoying the game so far.
Thats what should matter.
