I specifically set out to only find people with positive attitudes and we've had nothing but great times! I didn't really care if anyone was green to savage as long as they just showed the capacity to learn. Actually ended up with an ult raider in our group who cited they prefer statics that don't put logs first (past toxic experiences.) Our most memorable clears are the ones riddled with deaths and at least a healer LB lmao.

I prefer making my own and recruiting for them on reddit. I try out people in current EX fights and extend invites to people who are A: Actively participating in figuring out mechanics and B: Don't get mad or frustrated when they die. Bonus points if they laugh about it.

Edit: I should add, my group is late to the tier. We just finalized our BiS from E9S with the unlock and are now working on 10+. I sometimes check up on ffxivrecruitment and there's still a fair amount of statics recruiting for fresh prog for the whole tier on Crystal.
Honestly all it takes is genuine people to be able to clear content regardless of difficulty. Genuine people know when they need to step up or step out and they can talk to their peers to help alleviate a situation.
When someone in the group gets defensive the moment you ask them a question that remotely has the possibility of placing blame you aren't going to get anywhere.

How dare people want to look up what is essentially a partial resume of your raid history so they can make an informed conclusion.

The irony is hidden logs are actually viewed more negatively.

On the other hand, you gave yourself an answer in your first post why it is like that. In difficult content every player must carry its own wieght.

I hosted few "practice" groups for extreme trial and unreal weekly, but none of those ended in clear because not only players did not bother to watch 5 min vid guide, they even could not learn from its own mistakes and were repeatedly dying to dives and taking a cold bath after body slam

So, it is like a vicious circle. Duty completed prefix help filter experienced players for smooth clear, but at the same time prohibits us newcomers who makes effort to learn mechanics to even get a clear.

    Best regards
    This.

I mean, yeah, it sucks if you get there later. I have some friends who do more hardcore stuff that I join sometimes. Or I've put up blind fight PF in the past to see who wants to come muddle through. It does suck when people leave after a couple wipes, but it's not like we can force people to stay in a group.

I guess I'm wondering what else you think SE could do? They give us linkshells and FCs and Party Finder to get like-minded people together to tackle the content that requires more coordination. I mean I guess maybe some sort of extra incentive if you have someone in your party who hasn't cleared, but I think that would just lead to groups grabbing a random noob to carry with no real learning taking place so that noob could then help others. So I'm not sure what else you think the developers could even do here.

That and looking at logs isn't being a stalker. It's like someone going and looking at my logs right now.

I've never understood this sort of philosophy of only inviting people with FFlogs as I have them hidden. I haven't savage raided since Stormblood since they butchered SCH and haven't had a static since then. I've been playing SCH since 2.0 release, but I've rarely ever been asked for my FFlogs, instead most static groups asked me to come as a trial member for the week and depending on my DPS and my ability to do the mechanics I was granted a spot in the raid group if I did well. Only once I've failed to join a static this way, it was for Turn 5 of Twintania before the couple of nerfs and the echo buff to it.

FFlogs gives you a heads up as to what kind of experience someone has, but I remember being in a static where the BLM was the only member who uploaded logs. He would cherry pick logs on all fights, if we killed something 20 times he would have only 2 logs of it where he did well. Meanwhile he would stand in aoe's and make it frustrating to do a fight while healing him. If FFlogs uploaded every single clear from every single person in the game, I wouldn't have an issue with it.

My thing is if you want to recruit someone to a static try giving them a try and see how they do instead of declining giving them a chance based off of FFlogs.

Different groups different tastes, different expectations nothing wrong with rejecting people regardless of how arbitrary.

My group has slowly shifted to ultimate clear/experience only are allowed to join from simply tryouts and first come first served.

You can't hide that you are not playing well. What you can do you show them that you can be a lot better than the whiny insecure ppl who are complaining about someone else making a mistake. Those are the ppl who are giving their all but can't reach any heights and that pent-up frustration is then thrown at anyone they decide.

Honestly, the only way FFLogs is not going to end up being a burden to you at some point is if you're actively logging and chasing good parses...which in itself is a burden to people who'd rather not take the game that seriously and are comfortable pulling numbers high enough that they aren't a liability and only the most elite would consider calling them out for it.

Hiding parses will make people assume you're covering up bad performance, while allowing them be seen but not actively logging your own parses is going to create very skewed numbers that some idiot is eventually going to interpret as properly indicative of your overall performance.
