    {Thanks for the offer, but I'll have to pass.}

Open world PVP would be such a mess, and it would likely be MSQ restricted. No done with the MSQ? No Open World PVP for you.

Also they would have to restrict BLU, cause man, you would just get annihilated if you had to fight one on any job. Even level 80s... BLU could just pre-buff and one shot with Final Sting. Oh wait, BLU would probably get excluded yet again if this came to pass... good thing it won't though.

Pretty sure duels at Wolf's Den is as close as they're ever gonna get. You can always challenge people to go there and fight you.

When at last the work was done and the links were complete and unbreakable, I found that it held me in its grip." - Rabindranath Tagore

Especially when there’s literally an instance where we threaten the life of an unarmed guy, and then kill him when he calls guards to defend himself. Yeah no that ain’t good.
    Yes. These things did happen.
    No they are not fine.
    No, they ain't good.
    That was the point.
We acknowledge those things as having crossed a line and explicitly strive to not be like that. We aren't revelling in the blood and violence. These actions are not glorified or treated as just, but ultimately framed as bad.

Also, I'm not sure what excuses you think I'm trying to make. Can you clarify that for me please?

You know what else is taboo? Black magic. And yet thamaturgy isn't evil. Not even close.
For the 3rd time, let's get back to Reaper when we know the full story.

I picked this game precisely because there was no implied open world pvp. So no, thank you.

Go to the Wolves Den if you want to settle a dispute. There is no such thing as balanced open world pvp. The guy who strikes first with the hardest burst damage wins.

Lets be real, people who want this typically want it for mainly one reason, an excuse to sit outside the main cities and one shot sprouts.

Okay but why they gotta be freaks though? All SE would have to do to allay fears of getting bushwhacked by some player that just spawned from the ethers is either:

A.) Make Open World PvP opt in, that way players know what they're getting into when they tick that "I want to punch other players in the face" box.

B.) Make a wilderness like zone where players can group up with one another to delve into unexplored lands and uncover hidden items like PvP specific glams, treasure map loot, and other valuable items, all while knowing that at any given moment an enemy team could swoop in out of nowhere to relieve them of their hard earned spoils. Maybe also include a system to disincentivize players from simply waiting around for others to find loot by having a streak bonus for finding increasingly higher amounts of loot while defending yourself from your opponents, and have the bonus apply when you return to a safe zone to deposit the treasure you've collected.

Personally I think something like that would be a breath of fresh air for PvP game modes, kind of like a wild game of capture the flag.

Primarily in the social grouping aspect as it would encourage partying when questing more due to safety in numbers. Furthermore, it could be used as a way to settle disputes between players. In short, might would make right. It would also be a good way for players that have issues with certain pfs a way to take care of those without swamping an overworked GM with reports. Thoughts?
I would absolutely hate PvP in the open world with a passion. Its bad enough when there is a F.A.T.E on top of your quest marker never mind having to watch out for the dude from Make Love Not Warcraft while I'm busy trying to do daily's on a low level class.

If they did something like that they would have to make it seperate from normal servers. I enjoy just being able to chill in places, fly around and such. I don't wanna worry about someone trying to kill me while I'm gathering or helping someone out.
Now i personally think they should add more duel areas, maybe one per city-state? Just for fun to fight friends. But otherwise nah.

You really didn't play DRK or didn't pay attention to the story.

Having played TERA online and experienced and witnessed the Lumbertown bridge parties where nice red named max levels 'welcomed' new players by farming them over and over again.. I have this to add:

DRK is the WoL dealing with the traumas of their lifestyle - mental illness is NOT PRETTY. It’s not the WoL thinking they’re above everyone else - it’s the WoL *losing their mind*. Fray was not killing people at the ishgardian encampments - YOU WERE. Everything fray did was you - your mind fractured.

The story doesnt frame it as good - people are scared of you, youre talking to a dead body, youre killing innocents and harming civilians.

It’s you learning to embrace all aspects of yourself. So that you don’t lose your mind AGAIN.
