Because they needed a reason to lock another two-seater mount behind semi-difficult content. That's why it's the way it is and you'll never convince me otherwise.
Again I saw that under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to those with knowledge, but time and chance happen to them all.
I'm not usually the first person to leave even the most scuffed of mentor roulette groups, but when I get something like a bunch of sprouts who are refusing to accept a vote abandon after spending 20+ minutes wiping to the same mechanic early in a fight despite me trying to dumb it down for them as much as humanly possible, I lamentably don't have much of a choice.
Started doing mentor roulettes, have gotten a few extremes and they have all failed. No matter how many times you tell the mechanic to them they just don't know the games base "don't step in orange aoe" mechanic... Luckily it's never me who disbands. But the only placce I leave and doesn't affect players is the MS roulette lol.
Qued for Mentor Roulette as a tank, got an in-progress Garuda Ex trial. Apparently some toxic excuse for a mentor left immediately when they saw what they qued into. I stayed, we maybe wiped 2 or 3 times, but we got it in the end. I left and got most of the player comms.

Sounds like that mentor made the right call. Shame nobody took the opportunity given to them.Qued for Mentor Roulette as a tank, got an in-progress Garuda Ex trial. this thread started with ex roulettes which is something that just shouldnt be on the DF in the first place.I'm not even talking about teaching them in an EX.. people in this thread and many others have straight out said they won't teach spouts about the job.. they won't help them learn their classes at all.. some have said that they will straight up kick spouts from the dungeon because it will slow down their clear.. so no I'm not saying teach them in a trail.. I talking about teaching in general
do i think its my job to teach people 1 2 3? no its not my job to teach you how the basics of a class, you should have that figured out by now
do i think its my job to herd cats in an EX?: considering most people in DF are retarded and wont listen (snowcloak for example) i dont see why i should bother wasting my time with something that requires as much coordination as an EX
do i think its my job to teach mechanics in general? if i can google dungeons before queueing so im not dead weight whats stopping you?

Let's not forget increasing the punishment for mentors doing something that's perfectly fine (leaving an unprepared group in one of the endgames) just incentivizes them to kick the unprepared player for an easier clear.this thread started with ex roulettes which is something that just shouldnt be on the DF in the first place.

This seems backwards. The people who want to ignore advice want to be in the instance and experience the fight, and I kind of don't want to stay in the instance with a hopeless group. Then why would I try to kick people who want to be there instead of removing the person who doesn't, which is myself?
And please don't beg to be kicked. It's embarrassing to watch people try to avoid the penalty. Not good player etiquette at all.

You're looking at it backwards I think. The entire point of the queue is to put experienced people with those who need help. If EITHER side of that isn't holding up their part of the idea, they shouldn't be in the instance and they shouldn't expect others to conform to their outside goals. People who queue DF should be willing to: Put up with a certain amount of lack of skill or organization that comes with playing with all kinds of random people online and be willing to take guidance if they have never experienced an encounter before. If they want to learn all by their selves without listening to anyone, they can do that elsewhere and the game should direct them so (I know it doesn't now, the system needs a LOT of work). This seems backwards. It's not begging, it's politely asking. Because I also agree that if people don't want to be taught, there is nothing that can be done and in that case no amount of effort on the Mentors side is going to change things.
The problem I see is with the "omgit'sEXbye!" people AND the "you don't pay my sub" people. I'm not of the opinion that a giant punishment for leaving will solve all problems. There are downsides and possible negative effects. But a few of the more glaring issues with the queue right now could be solved with people not queueing if they are entirely unwilling to run instances that are contained in it.
Good player etiquette involves understanding others may have limits and while they might try, if you outright refuse to listen at all or simply CANNOT perform the necessary mechanics within a reasonable amount of iterations, they are allowed to give up since they gave it their best.
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
